Mayweather wants Hatton to retire so that hes the fighter that retired Hatton. Its pathetic, Hatton is 29 and in his prime. No way should he even consider retiring.
Mayweather: "Hatton Should Not Fight Again"

I think he could fight at 140.
Floyd is right though, I mean he took a beating. If you re watch you see the clean punches that landed on Hatton, and the body work also.
A human being isn't designed to take that much punishment. The result is an arturo Gatti who's movements and reflexes are diminished and his shtick revolves around absorbing punishment for the crowd's delight.

A little Much!!
It is Hattons decision to fight on, but he is the type of fighter who takes punishment, if he fights Oscar it could really end his career..... Coming forward like that against guys who can hit is lethal... But Floyd should let him make the decision.. But there is no way they should fight again... It would be taking advantage of the public....Comment

Mayweather is right, Hatton is a shot fighter and should retire. He's easy to hit, and has been hit too many times in his career. I'd hate to see the poor guy with brain damage.Comment

But lets listen to hatton he said hes hurt more before. And the thing is hatton normally stops people fast so he doesnt have to take too many punches. Well he does go the distance sometimes.Comment

It was a nearly war. Definitely a war by Mayweathers standards.
Mayweather took more big shots than I've seen him take for a long time. Ricky too. But Ricky said he felt fine.Last edited by Weebler I; 12-14-2007, 03:13 PM.Comment

"risk his health" jeez the guy went through 1 war and now he needs to retire? And it wasnt even that bad of a beating, more like a UFC type money KO, not a "scrambled brains" Corralles KO.
Obviously if health is the primary concern, you retire as soon as you make enough money, and the boxing fans never get to see another great chanpion again
Hatton still has greatness within his grasp.Comment
