Mayweather: "Hatton Should Not Fight Again"

WBC welterweight champ Floyd Mayweather Jr, in a conversation with boxing scribe Dan Rafael, said Ricky Hatton should consider retirement. Mayweather stopped Hatton in the tenth-round of their Dec. 8 enoucnter in Las Vegas. The pound-for-pound fighter feels Hatton has been through too many wars, and doesn't think he should risk his health by fighting again. [details]

He definitely should not fight above 140 ever.

Talks with DLH at 150 and above? For his sake, I hope not ...

If Mal hurts Hatton during their bout, this will be conformation Hatton has to hang em up.

I'll wait until his next fight to see where he is physically and mentally before I make a decision on whether to say he should retire or not.

"risk his health" jeez the guy went through 1 war and now he needs to retire? And it wasnt even that bad of a beating, more like a UFC type money KO, not a "scrambled brains" Corralles KO.

Obviously if health is the primary concern, you retire as soon as you make enough money, and the boxing fans never get to see another great chanpion again

Hatton still has greatness within his grasp.

Considering some of Floyd's last few fights wouldn't you say the same?

Sorry Floyd, it was a good fight, but not a WAR.

there is one thing him and vargas have in common. weight problems, they destroy you, and when you get hit and you hurt like hatton does, its going to wear on you quick, look at vargas right now, same age as hatton. when vargas came back from him DLH KO, he looked completely different, Hattons lifestyle will eventually prevent him from making 140, i dont think hatton should give it up, but i know how vargas went after he began going downhill.
