He is only saying Hatton took a lot of clean shots, did he not or something? This maybe wasnt a two sided war but definately a war for Ricky and he took a lot of punishment.

The way he trained for Mayweather makes me think he could beat most of the guys at 147.

This is true, it is obvious that Hatton has the same skill loss at 147 that Gatti did when he was forced up to that weight. We can hope that Hatton can continue at 140 longer, because if he is forced by weight to go to 147 then he probably should retire.

It is nice to see Mayweather showing some concern for his peers but Hatton will definitely fight again, I just hope that he gets a win and then retires on a high.

Hatton is by no means finished, he just stuggles at 147. A prime Hatton will NEVER be beaten at 140.

Hatton was already contemplating retirement, I think he should honor his deal with his mother and fight like 3 more fights then hang them up, he's had a greaat career but he's been Boxing far too long, Ricky Hatton as well as Floyd Mayweather Jr and any fighter who realizes that the sport is taking too much out of them should retire because it's their life to lose if **** goes wrong, he should face Witter, Malignaggi and maybe Torres and then call it a day.. 100

for once he really wasnt talking out of his ass, you have to understand that him and vargas were teammates, which is why you never really see mayweather talking bad about him. vargas and hatton are somewhat similar in their path except vargas was more technical when it came to boxing, whereas hatton is more upfront and in your face. When you think about it, most featherweights who fight like that and start off early like hatton did are done by 29-30-31, hatton is 29, i honestly think he might have a couple more left, but him promising him mom to retire by 30 wasnt no bull****, hes eventually going to get even slower and weight drain will prevent him from being effective at some point, factor in alcohol and you see where im getting at.
