I dont see Cotto's body work being a factor, Mayweather can take shots, Hatton and DLH both hit the body but were unsuccessful, DLH was successful but it did'nt hurt Floyd he was just smiling. Mayweather we all know trains hard for a big fight and never under estimates anyone, I see him blocking bodyshots and then BAM countering Cotto. People dont realise Mayweather is a quicker and defensive version of Mosley, he may not hit as hard but he is quicker than him and he does'nt get hit, he not only relies on speed but timing as well, we all the know the stats as Mayweather is the most accurate puncher.

Hitting Cotto + Not getting hit much by him because of defense and height/reach advantages = 12 Round decision with Floyd probably winning 8 or 9 rounds.

I will be honest with you guys, the only guy I would'nt pick over Mayweather is Paul Williams and I can give you reasons why. The Cotto fight will be hyped and Cotto will win more than 2 rounds unlike Hatton but at the end I see Floyd's glove being raised and then people coming up with:

OMG LMAO PWNED FLOYD IS DUCKING WILLIAMS! WHAT A FRAUD. blah blah

It will never stop guys. BTW I pick Williams over Floyd, he is the only guy that is a big threat in my eyes, coming from a Fan.

yes... he did. 2 year vacation and retirement are in virtually the same catagory. lol

Thats why guys retire, and then 2 years later they come back, cause 2 years is like a mini-retirement

Amateur was a horrible word to pick, but as long as you got my point it's all good. "Uncomfortable" is the better term there. But it's simply not a fair fight, and if anyone actually wants to see it happen, I suggest they should want to see Manny Pacquiao take on Antonio Margarito afterwards.
I never liked Bernard, but I respect a great fighter when respect is due. I recognize what he's accomplished. And even though I'm not a fan, I would hate to see him lose to a fighter because of his diminished skills.

That something i give Floyd a ton of credit for, he seems un hurtable to the body. Like Ali, going to the body just seems useless other then to score points witht he judges.

But i dont think Williams poses a threat at all, to open and his jab is a flick. A stiff jab is what gets to Mayweather

That's what you get for thinking...he has 82" inch reach and is a southpaw...anything he throws will 'get to Mayweather'

Do you honestly think he'll be gone for two years? Did you really think he retired after DLH? Because if so, you're like the baby who really thinks the parent has dissapeared during 'peekaboo'. Just because it's said doesn't mean it's true. How many athletes have you seen retire and come back?

However lets be reasonable about mayweather.........

and everyone knows im a huge fan...............

but you cant look at urself and say i have no faults.........

so we must be honest about mayweather as well as ourselves.......

from 140 down mayweather has fought the best there was..........

from 140 up he's hand picked his opponents......

and not the best of them...........

thats not to say they were all bums....

                but quite a few..............

me i think mayweather moved up in weight class way too much......

if he wanted to go back down people would say he's ducking people...

so he's stuck at this point........

one thing i dont like about mayweather is how he talks about other boxers of the past........

i think mayweather is great..... however if he had fought leonard....

leonard would have kicked mayweathers ass.........

leonard fought top 10 competition before he was 26 .... and before he fought for a world title.....thats scary.......

i might misquote this but someone correct me if im wrong.....

                he fought duran...benitez and hearns.........

also alot of the fighters he fought are in the hall of fame.......

what im trying to say is that mayweather hasnt faced the best of competition on the way up...and although i think he is smart in hand picking his opponents... it dosent in my eyes do much for his legacy....

                again mayweather is great....

but in order to secure his legacy i think he needs to clean out this division.....

i also get annoyed at floyd when he says i went up in weight 5 times... im 6 time world champion...

but floyd in all honesty who have you beaten on the way up.......

i said before the fight with hatton that hatton is a bum... not to discredit hatton but more to point out that again floyd picked an opponent he knew he would win against.......

peple may disagree with me... and thats ok.......

but i try to remain neutral even if im a fan to try to give an honest opinion...and not one thats swayed by ohhhh mayweather he's so great he can do no wrong...

he's accomplished alot........ i give him full credit......

but mayweather is no leonard...not even close..........

however if he cleans out this division.... in my eyes he would be in the top 5 all time.........
                1) How has he handpicked opponents when the ones he wanted at 140 were ducking him and who did he handpick at 147? How do you "handpick" a lineal title?

                2) Floyd beat a couple of hall of famers as well, but if Floyd needed to pick a hall of famer to beat now just to please you, who would it be? Are there anymore around besides the one he beat in May? Leonard was surrounded by hall of famers who were around his weight class, that isn't a fair comparison.

                3) In my eyes, if you're holding Mayweather to Leonard's standard, why should he have to clean out a division to be top 5 (Leonard didn't)? Even though I'd place him top 20, I don't see a win over a Cotto or Williams jumping him up to top 5. Who are they?

NO ONE CAN BEAT PAUL WILLIAMS......AND WHO THE HELL WILL FAULT FLOYD FOR LOSING TO HIM...IM HIS BIGGEST FAN AND I BARELY THINK HE CAN BEAT PAUL.

JUST BECAUSE FLOYD CANT BEAT A 6-2.....82 INCH REACH GIANT OF A WW WHOS A SOUTHPAW AND NEVER STOPS THROWING DOESNT MEAN HE ISNT AN ATG.

HE WOULD STILL BE AN ATG.

                      ...............

As to a fight with cotto........

Mayweather will have more distance between him and cotto than he did aginst hatton...

                      cotto is a pressure fighter...but he's a boxer...

mayweather would have the distance required to stick and move...

even though cotto is a stalker and breaks you down slowly..........

but i dont think with mayweathers defense that cotto can break floyd down...

meaning i dont think he will land enough...

on top of that mayweather counters extremely well and is an accurate puncher......

however if floyd dosent touch cotto meaning make him feel some power...

and cotto can keep coming it can get difficult for floyd.......

if you hit a guy and he keeps coming thats your ass...........
