floyd from 140 down fought the best...........

    140 up ..not so............

so i hope if he retires tomorrow for good.... he is ranked high...but i doubt it will be that high.........

i say this because i have confidence in floyd i think he can beat cotto and williams......

he is just choosing not to .....

and not that he's ducking them he's just not thinking about them..........

you will always be remebered by who you fought.....

and to me zab..baldomir...hatton...and gatti...just dont do it for me......

but perhaps the competition he fought from 140 down will be enough......

    history will tell...............
Yeah, his legacy is what he did at 130-135....wins over Genaro Hernandez, Jesus Chavez, Angel Mafredy, Diego Corrales, and Jose Luis Castillio (twice). At 140-147, he beat some decent names (Corley, Mitchell, N'Dou, Gatti) and some BIG ones (De La Hoya, Judah, Hatton). A VERY solid resume. A wipeout of Cotto would be icing on the cake (and yes, he'd easily beat Cotto from what I have witnessed...no disrespect to Cotto - a great fighter in his own right).

      Easy work?

Ooh man.. Im not going to even start.

Everyone mentioned how Hatton was overated. So FLoyd beat an overated fighter right? Look how much ya respect him. So much people talk ****.

Cotto would give anyone hell in the ring if he has too. Im pretty sure Cotto can land that one shot that can turn a fight around. Ya keep on forgeting though. This is boxing. Im sure Cotto would adapt with Floyd, but Floyd would be in for a close fight.

Yea your right but doesn't the guy deserve a rest? **** he's been fighting all his life, he said he was taking a vacation not retireing. Let the dude have some time w/ his family and the young dudes fight amongst themselves and see who the best is. Then let Floyd come back and dominate him like he would do any of the current contenders. 6 championships in 5 weight classes! He deserves a break and doesn't have anything else to prove imo.

unless of course the end is near and the world ends...lol.
That's irrelevant. The point I was making that you're responding to here, is that you were misapplying the word "bum" in an extra silly way.

My points about Sugar Ray Leonard stand and it is my opinion that you hold Floyd to a higher standard.

            sosofisis..............

i do take the time to read what you write...and i promise to get back to you....

i really must go........but i will get back to the discussion............

            to me its not complicated...........

            if mayweather retires today................

he retires undefeated........6 time world champion at 5 diffrent weight classes....

but he wouldnt be ranked higher than leonard all time..........and leonard lost........

why do u think that is..........

could it possibly be because of the competition he faced......?

            sonofisis............

i will defintely get back to you...i have to read back 2 posts that you made

but i will get back to you....again thanks for the discussion..........

This is my biggest biggest gripe with spoiled fans, it really is. The man has worked his ass off and beat everybody put in front of him for 11 years. People can argue about the specifics and debate over who is the best NOW, but when Floyd fought he won and won legitimate championships in 3 weight classes and belts in two others. Almost 20 title fights, still undefeated.

From G. Hernandez, to Corrales, Castillo, DLH and Hatton, he has beaten so many formidable fighters and he deserves to do what he wishes without being criticized for every little inane thing. ****, he Does not have to be the greatest ****ing fighter of all time, why is top 20 not enough? I'd hate to be pushed that hard. Good post..

Cotto's a tough fighter but Floyd would expose him all day. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Cotto fan but he has two many flaws. And honestly can you tell me when have you ever seen Floyd hurt? And please don't say the Judah knockdown. I don't believe Cotto could land that one punch to change the fight.

because i feel mayweather is better than top 20...........

                      so why settle there............

the reason people are rich.........or as rich as bill gates.........

is because they dont settle for 50 billion...........

                      they keep pushing...............

i think mayweather is so good that he hasnt reached his potential....

and is doing his legacy an injustice by not cleaning house........

so now ur saying he should settle for top 20...he dosent have to be number 1 all time....

thats like telling the cowboys say or whoever comes out of the nfc.....

2nd place is fine uve done enough ...dont worry if u lose to the patriots..theres no need to push further...

what he has done is great.............

                      but again...............not high enough............

and the sad thing about it is...........

                      he could be that high.........................
