Why can't you still be considered an eliete fighter if you are passed your prime. It doesn't matter if you are in your prime if you can beat the vast majority in your divison at the time.

That and Whitaker was known as an eliete past his best days.

When DD says PRIME, he means smb at his best. When he says ELITE he means somebody that is great at what he is doing. DLH was ELITE even with the wrong game plan but he wasn't at his best against none of the last 4 fighters he faced. Therefore, he was not in his PRIME.

Well the most obvious reason is that he was on a 1 year layoff. Which is a pretty long time for a boxer to be inactive. Also, as you saw in the PBF fight he wasn't doing that good in the later rounds and he started to fade.

Right. And Tszyu - Hatton was even through eight on nearly everybody's card. And then Tszyu faded badly late.

So, if Tszyu was prime, so was Oscar.

Ricky fought a PRIME and ELITE fighter in 2005.
Floyd did so in 2002.
And now we have two prime and elite fighters fighting each other.

It's different to fade against PBF then to fade against Hatton. PBF was pretty much pot shotting ODLH throughout the fight and I don't think that's the same as fading when you have Hatton putting the pressure on you non-stop.
