people tend to forget just how smart Miguel Cotto can be, I have always said he is a Puncher/Boxer with a great chin which is the worst combination in Boxing in terms of fighting against. Cotto breaks you down and he doesn't do it with pitter patter, he does it with strong, hard, fast and premeditated punches. he is a puncher who can Box. he also knows how to cut off the ring very well which is why he was able to pressure Zab so much and force the fight. people just call him a good puncher and they need to dig a little deeper into the crust, there IS a method to his mayhem..
Miguel doesn't just wail off, Shane does.. when forced into an intense exchange Shane is known for letting his hands go and form a blaze. he also is vulnerable to shots he can't see, I know pretty much ALL fighters are but Shane will be ready for the canvas once hit with a bomb he didn't see, Cotto knows how give himself more space yet not stop hitting, he showed against Torres that he's dangerous even while hurt, Cotto's body attacks will also play a big part in chopping Mosley down.. expect some low blows and not because "Cotto is a dirty fighter" but because Shane jumps in and out, he has A LOT of movement and when doing his thing and Cotto will ALWAYs go for that body so when Cotto throws a punch to the belt line and Shane jerks up real fast it can land low and it wont be neither one's fault it will just be 2 colliding styles..
bottomline I see Cotto chopping Mosley down with shots in combo's that will vary from the face to the body, I see a lot of in-fighting from Cotto and I see Shane playing along with it, he will in turn fight Cotto's fight and allow for Cotto to land **** that will fold him, maybe a punch to the solar plexis or maybe a hook to the grill I just see Cotto finding enough room to step in HARD with his punches due to Mosley's willing habit of exchanging and taking those chances.. if Cotto is a brawler then so is Mosley they are just the same kind of brawlers, smart punchers who know when and where to strike off instinct accept Mosley is faster, thats his true advantage here because he can find Cotto faster than Miguel can find him but sometimes Mosley throws so much that he ends up throwing too much and leaving himself open for bone breaking shots from the right guy, Cotto IS that guy. Forrest didn't hit Mosley the way Cotto will so it's safe to say Mosley has never faced a puncher like Cotto, Vernon may hit harder but he doesn't fight as intense like Cotto, he fights more of a skilled and laid back round winning fight, Cotto CAN do that too but he's going to fight come Nov 10th, it's just going to be about who has more fight in them and I say Miguel will even though Shane is faster.. 100Comment
