Pacquiao should NOT be above Mayweather.

Hopkins is WAY too high for someone fighting ONCE per year.

Wright at 6???? He should be lower tier.

Calzaghe at 10? A guy undefeated for over a decade is WAY TOO LOW, especially under guys like Pavlik, Vazquez and Marquez.

    Juan Manuel TOO HIGH.
    my complete sentiments.

And Hopkins went on a Taylor-Taylor-Tarver-Winky run.

Here is the opposition that was available for CalSlappy:

      Roy Jones
      Bernard Hopkins
      Antonio tarver
      Winky Wright
      Jermain taylor
      Glen Johnson
      Kelly pavlik
      James Toney
      etc...

Somehow, Joe couldn't make a single one of those fights happen.
Somehow you ALWAYS speak before researching ANY FACTS.

      A. Trinidad is BLOWN UP middleweight that Calzaghe, Kessler of any other fighter at 168 would murder.

      B. A Calzaghe-Johnson fight was made four times and cancelled four times because of injuires on BOTH ends.

      C. Tarver lost to Hopkins before the fight could ever happen. There were talks and Tarver asked for almost 10 million.

      D. When was James Toney or Kelly Pavlik available for Calzaghe? Where do you get this **** from?

      E. Jones priced himself out last year and Calzaghe has been at 168 while Jones has been at 175. Taylor priced himself out this year and took Pavlik instead.

You way overate Taylor? He closely decision ed a very old Hopkins twice, managed a draw against an ageing Wright and pulled a SD over a blown up Welterweight in Spinks. If he was that good surely he would have dominated these fighters?

Don't get carried away with Pavlik, after all Taylor was probably winning the fight and Pavlik had to get off the floor to win, hes a puncher so......he's not even in Calzaghe's league yet, surely you see that?

My sentiments exactly, how with one/two decent wins does Pavlik get into the top ten. His performance was explosive but technically not the best.

As you say Taylor was/is overrated. The first time he met a prime true middleweight he lost.

Calzaghe is head and shoulders better than Taylor and Pavlik, if you disagree than you know little about this sport IMO.

I am almost positive that isn't true. I remember hearing Jones telling Calzaghe he would fight Calzaghe for 40/60 (with Cal getting the bigger share!) and he would go over to wales to fight him! Calzaghe turned it down by saying something of the likes of "he get's knocked down to much".

Don't be saying that. Alot of reasonable minds can disagree as to that assessment of Pavlik. But, Calzaghe deserves to be in top ten p4p, no doubt.

This is the only one you got wrong poppa.

What he meant is that Trinidad, Eastman and Joppy are better resume wise then anybody that Calzaghe has fought. He didn't imply that Trinidad would beat the other Supper-middle's that Calzaghe has beaten but that he was a better win for Hopkins then most Calzaghe wins.

                  1. Manny Pacquiao, 45-3-2, 35 KO’s, Philippines

This is the first list in years that I do not have Floyd Mayweather in the top spot. I finally have conceded the top spot to Pacquiao after his dominant performance over Marco Antonio Barrera.
Uhhh...for real? That was a boring decision win that was far closer than the scores claimed it to be and displayed many of Manny's weaknesses.

Manny’s level of opposition, along with his willingness to stay active, is unparalleled amongst elite fighters today. His last five fights, which have all been seemingly effortless wins, have been against Erik Morales, Oscar Larios, Erik Morales again, Jorge Solis, and Marco Antonio Barrera.
Keep in mind where these fighters were in their careers. Morales was clearly way over the hill, and still decisioned Manny in their first fight. Barrera was clearly done, seeing as he RETIRED after the fight ended. Oscar Larios moved up 2 divisions coming off a loss and still went the distance and Jorge Solis has never coming close beating ANYONE of note.

Even his “easy” fights are against tough opponents. Clearly not true His opponents have been top notch, yet he has not been seriously challenged in the ring since the first fight with Morales, which was over two years ago. Pacman is chewing up legends and spitting them out at an unbelievable rate. So he beat and old Morales 2 outta 3 and then decisioned Barrera, after knocking him out the first time. Seems pretty incredible

In all honesty though, Pac is a very good fighter who has had a great couple of years but anyone with a brain knows theres no way he gets the top spot over Floyd Mayweather.

What Jones says and what Jones does are two different things. He also had a rematch booked with Hopkins, backed out after wanting a crazy amount of money at the last minute. He wanted a 40-60 split but neither network was interested in the fight because Jones had lost 3 of his last 4 at the time.

What about how the Hanshaw fight fell apart and had to be PPV after Jones wanted so much money there was no way Showtime could afford it.

We have seen little evidence how how good Joe C is against A level opposition because hes never fought anyone of that caliber in his entire career.
At least Pavlik and Taylor are willing to go out and fight the best fighters available to them.
