Pavlik isn't even in Calzaghe's league. Explain how Taylor is a proven champion? He fought old men or blown up welters/light middleweight. The first live middleweight he faced he was KO'd?

      C. Tarver lost to Hopkins before the fight could ever happen. There were talks and Tarver asked for almost 10 million.

      D. When was James Toney or Kelly Pavlik available for Calzaghe? Where do you get this **** from?

      E. Jones priced himself out last year and Calzaghe has been at 168 while Jones has been at 175. Taylor priced himself out this year and took Pavlik instead.

When Jones was in his prime Calzaghe attempted to call him out, and Jones offered Joe a fight in the US for 60/40 which recieved no response.
Face it Joe didnt want a prime Roy, and for good reason.

Theres no way anyone can claim Joe has faced the best opposition out there with a straight face.

Jermaine is one of the best fighters in the world, Calslappy is not in his league. JT beat HOPKINS!!! who has calzone fought who was as good as Hopkins. Taylor is an ATG who should have beaten Pavlik but Pavlik got lucky.

Taylor is a proven champion by beating the previous champion who had 20 title defenses twice. He then proved his caliber by fighting to a draw with a more technically skilled, more experienced Winky Wright.

Has Joe ever even FACED 2 fighters the caliber of Bhop and Winky?

Hopkins-Trinidad was a physical mismatch. Trinidad was too small for him and so was Joppy. Lacy has being groomed as being the next Mike Tyson and all of a sudden he's washed up after Calzaghe dominated him. Before that fight, almost the entire US and UK media had Lacy a very heavy favorite.

Charles Brewer, Eubank, Bika, Byron Mitchell, Woodhall and prime Sheika are just as good as Joppy or Eastman.

He defeated one of the greatest Middleweight champions ever in Hopkins....twice. Hopkins hasn't lost in over a decade before Taylor

He had a draw against a Top ranked p4p fighter in Winky Wright who also hasn't lose in a decade at that point.

He defeated two former and current jr.middleweight champions in Ouma and Spinks.

                That's why.

Calzaghe has been holding on to his WBO title for way too long fighting mandatory's who dont' have a shot. His victory over Jeff Lacy is the only thing of note since he became champion years ago.

                  It makes perfect logical sense.
Taylor was the number 4 or 5 p4p, he was then knocked out in an excellent preformance by Pavlik, and then Pavlik enters the top 10.
Similar to the way Taylor entered the top 10 after his victory over BHop and Hatton entered the top 10 after his victory over Tzsyu.

Calzaghe had a contract with Showtime at the time and Jones had one with HBO, there was not enough money in that fight for the networks to come together.

I dont think anyone said he was washed up, it was more that he just wasnt that good of a fighter.
His next fight cemented that fact.
