Oh please, if you are going to have the audacity to write off the fights with Tszyu and Castillo for not being in their prime then don't include Corley and Judah on your list for Floyd.Comment

Mozza, Dios has been beaten around on this subject so much that he's much the journeyman now. Just going around looking for fights, but no real hope of winning, except when against uninformed posters.Comment

Well you're absolutely right about that! Floyd did "come thru" that division, by fighting bums. Meanwhile, Hatton had the balls to take on one of the greatest 140s of modern times, one certain Kostya Tszyu...and he won. This victory by itself compares to any single fight Floyd has had in his career.Comment

not only was castillo past his prime, he was barely breathing. corley and judah were far more active than tszyu and undoubtedly dangerous fights.Comment

He beat Corrales in the rematch the year before. You mean to tell me a year after he put up a good performance, he's all of a sudden shot? Thats not true at all. Hatton was just the better fighter, while Castillo was past his prime, not shot. There's a difference.
Scratch that, it was more like 18 months before, but still...Last edited by -Antonio-; 10-27-2007, 02:27 PM.Comment

That is pure nonsense. You need to look up the word BUM again and thanks for the spelling correction to make yourself look better once in a while. This is my third language after all and I tend to mess up here and there.Well you're absolutely right about that! Floyd did "come thru" that division, by fighting bums. Corley = not a bum
Bruseles = WBC top ranked contender, blame the WBC
Gatti = not a bum...Hatton wanted to fight him as well if you forget for a major payday but he lost to Baldomir.Comment

thats absolute bull****, one of the greatest 140s of modern times would never have got smashed up by former crack head vince phillips. no offence vinceWell you're absolutely right about that! It just so happens that Tszyu was the recognized champion, hadn't lost in 8 years, had just six months earlier destroyed Sharmba in 3, and was top ten p4p at the time of the fight. Nothing else needs be said about Tszyu, except to say that maybe he "grew old" during the fight. That's a possibility, but that in no way detracts from Hatton's accomplishment...it enhances it.Comment
