Hatton: "I'm Alot More Clever Than People Think"

Some people have no option but to move up but I could name plenty who have stayed at the same weight for years and have been successful. What I want to know from you is do you think this is an indictment of these individuals or boxing in general?Comment

OK, Mickey,
A bad round?
Tell me which 2-3 round clip during the Urango fight that I should use as symbolic of Hatton's boxing ability.Comment

1) If you stay at the same weight class, then making that weight should be "easy" for you. You should not be dehydrating 14 pounds to make weight. So in that sense, yes. That is an indictment.
2) If you stay at the same weight for ten plus years (40+ fights) , then there is an expectation on my part that you would have cleaned out the division. Or at least fought what is generally considered the elite at that class.
In his ten years and 40 fights at 140, here are the top guys at/around that weight: Judah, malignaggi, Corley, Ndou, mayweather, Tszyu, Lazcano, gatti, Casamayor, castillo, Corrales, Freitas, Harris, Cotto, Witter, etc. How many of those guys did Hatton face in their primes?
If you say that some of those guys were at 135, I will gladly provide you with a list of other 135ers that Hatton fought.
3) It is the minority of guys who have NOT moved up through the first 10 years of their career. So while you may name "plenty", please realize that it is still the minority.Comment

Hatton was in front of Urango and hitting him with body shots as JU fought back. In round 6 or 7, JU hurt RH to the body with some return fire, and it became the unwatchable clutchfest thereafter.
Are you using 5 rounds of the Urango fight as Hatton's career highlight? Please advise.
repeat: Juan Urango.Comment

Hatton has moved up so alot of what you are saying is irrelevant and there is not much point in throwing in names like Harris and Lazcano when Hatton was due to fight both of them but couldn't because one of them got beat and the other pulled out. Also, the point about fighting these guys in their prime is a moot point for numerous reasons, not least because all these fighters are of different ages and experiences therefore making it nigh on impossible to fight some of them in their primes.1) If you stay at the same weight class, then making that weight should be "easy" for you. You should not be dehydrating 14 pounds to make weight. So in that sense, yes. That is an indictment.
