Tougher Fight: Tszyu @ 140... or Delahoya @ 154?

IT's just that I'm not wrong at all. I named a common opponent between Oscar and Tszyu....Miguel Angel Gonzales....who was very good. You are a ****ing Coyote who doesn't quit when you are wrong. Even though I hate these triangulation matchups... You named ONE common opponent and C-Drone named 3 more for you, all of which Oscar dismantled in a better fashion than Tszyu, take your L like a man Coyote and give it up.
The comparison clips embedded above show exactly what I mean. Ask the common opponent Miguel Angel Gonzales who was more formidable to him...the clips speak for themselves.
Now in 2005 Tszyu was still formidable having just come off a three round destruction of Sharmba Mitchell. Oscar at 154 got beat around and was over the hill by the time he got to Floyd. The clips show that Oscar was much much better when he was young. On the other hand, the evidence shows that Tszyu retained much of his ferocity and skill.
It's a very simple matter to me. Hatton's victory over Tszyu was a greater acheivement than Floyd's victory over Oscar. No doubt about it, IMO. This is why Hatton's record stands up comparibly to Floyd's. Come December if the same Hatton that beat Tszyu shows up, Floyd is in for a very tough night.
Pick: HattonComment

That's a great point. Tszyu was top ten p4p 2004-2005. Was Oscar top ten p4p when he fought Floyd? I don't think so.
For those who might have missed Tszyu at 135-140, check this clip out. Yes, he was a monster indeed.

sure tszyu was a ****er but he did not posess the finess or boxing skill as de la hoya. also when hatton beat him tszyu had been very inactive due to injury, what was it, 3 rounds in almost 2 years?Comment

Well Tszyu fought in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. And, he was top ten p4p in all those years. I suspect he was well when he destroyed Mitchell in 3. That was 6 months before the Hatton fight.
And, I disagree as to you assertion that Tszyu lacked boxing skill...lol...that is way off base. He was highly highly skilled. Check out his destruction of Vernon Forrest in Am. World Championships for details.Last edited by Wiley Hyena; 10-20-2007, 02:25 PM.Comment

As for Oscar's P4P ranking...
it is blatantly true that Tszyu was ranked highly in the P4P when Ricky fought him, and Oscar was not. Truth, no way around it. It is also true that he was only ranked as highly as #4 P4P when he was at 154, still one spot lower than Kostya.
However, it does seem a bit premature to downgrade De La Hoya completely because of that P4P ranking. His fall off the list was because of his failed attempt to win the middleweight title from Hopkins at 160. Does that make him any less formidable at 154?
Is Cory Spinks viewed as a less threatening 154 pounder because he lost to Taylor at 160?
Just something to consider.Comment
