    Tougher Fight: Tszyu @ 140... or Delahoya @ 154?

I wanted to get the board's opinion on an often-debated topic.

Wiley Hyena is a big Kostya Tszyu fan. He said this today:

"IMO Hatton's win over Tszyu is a greater accomplishment than any single fight on Floyd's resume."

I will respect that is HIS opinion.

But I wanted to ask the board for their HONEST opinions, and ask you to vote above.

Which is the greater accomplishment (i.e Which is the tougher fight for a JWW fighter)

36 year old (2005) Kostya Tszyu @ 140 pounds, or

    34 year old (2007) Oscar Delahoya @ 154 pounds?
    74
36 year old Kostya Tszyu @ 140 pounds
    45.95%
    34
34 year old Oscar Delahoya @ 154 pounds
    54.05%
    40

    The poll is expired.

I think logical thought says the bigger De La Hoya is the tougher fight. I really can't say though. Plus you gotta take in to account that de la hoya is kinda of a big puncher. What are de la hoyas and Tszyu's resumes? Which one of those fighters is considered more accomplished that has to count for something.

Well, I think it is consensus that Delahoya is the more accomplished fighter. He fought Shane twice, Trinidad, Vargas, Quartey, Hopkins, Pernell, Mayweather.

And, skipped out on Tszyu. Don't forget to tell them about that, Dios.

I've voted in answer to the question you are really asking. Hatton's win over Tszyu was a bigger achievement because of where he was in his career and in the world rankings vs where Kostya was in his career compared to Floyd and where he was in his career and stature vs Oscar and where he was in his.

The fact of the matter is that if Floyd hadn't dominated the p4p rankings for years then his win over Oscar would be more monumental, just as Hatton's win over Tszyu was.

And that's taking nothing from either fighter. Floyd's win over Corrales was almost as monumental as Hatton's win over Tszyu. But not quite on the same level because Floyd was already an experienced titlist before the fight. And no, the WBU belt doesn't count.

I'm sure this has been covered but do you think if not for the mid fight brawl in the Judah fight where he was choked do you think zab could have won that fight? From pieces I saw zab seemed to be workin pretty good. Got a link for that fight actually I'd like to see the whole thing.

I didn't factor in Mayweather or Hatton. I just thought of myself as a 140 pound fighter, having to pick who I'd rather have a win over. I picked De La Hoya, even at that stage.

Yes...I do believe it was a greater achievement. I absolutely believe that.

                    Squeal,

You just wanted to cast a Tszyu vote, so you rewote the question. You didn't address the spirit or letter of the question. But that's cool.
