      No. You don't.

Pernell Whitaker did not "impose his will" on other fighters. Nor did Willie Pep.

They were superior technical craftsmen. And it is also possible to be a great champion via superior technical craft.

Thats why there are still debates going on today (including on here) that question their legacy.

No one questions say Hagler, why because he imposed his will onto his opponent and left no questions to be asked.

At least the first step to fixing a problem is to know that you have one. Your nearly there.... pal.
            Another great contribution. Cong****.

                  I disagree, man.

I think that Willie Pep is universally recognized as a top ten fighter, and Pernell is recognized as a top 20 (or better) fighter.

ALSO: Is SRL an all-time great? With absolute certainty. Right?

In his TWO biggest wins, did he "impose his will"? His biggest wins were Duran 2 and Hagler. How did he stylistically approach those fights?

Tommy Hearns is a great figter, but he isn't on the level of Duran or MMH.

Moofo, what is this thread saying?

IF Hatton manages to win, he'll blow up to 250 lbs, sign a megafight with De La Hoya, get slaughtered and retire to a stool in some dirty Manchester bar.

IF Hatton loses, he'll blow up to 250 lbs, retire to a stool in some dirty Manchester bar, and comeback against Witter in four years when he's blown all his millions.

Excellent point, but, SRL did attempt to impose his will onto his opponents especially against Duran in the first fight, also against Hagler he stood and exchanged. OK he lost against Duran but he gained the respect of millions who only regarded him as a flashy twinkle toes boxer,

Therefore that's all I expect to see from Mayweather. Of late he has pot shot-ted his way to victories and he should be better than that.

As I said, I admire him but expect more otherwise in twenty years other people will be having the same debate.
