I definatly fall into the group that floyd is highly over rated. It will be a solid win for Hatton, but should not be veiwed as any more than that, but of course there are tyhose that will try to make Hatton The ATG leet fighter after the win.Moofo,
You can't have it both ways.
1) Claim TODAY that Floyd is overrated and should not be p4p #1. You say that Floyd is not a great fighter. Not one of the greats of this era or an ATG.
2) Then claim on December 9th that Hatton beat a great fighter and that win guarantees his HoF legacy. Claim that hatton now deserves P4P #1 because he beat FMJ.
You can't have it BOTH ways. So, either Floyd is a great fighter and P4p #1, and Ricky's win will be awesome. Or Floyd is overrated and a media creation and Ricky's win will be good, but nothing particularly special.Comment

Easton, were you the one that said that if you were Hatton, you would retire after this win?
After Floyd wins, I need you to sign on within 12 hours so I can belittle you and gloat prior to your banishment from Heaven.
You can be like Lucifer and go create an alternative where you can rule.Comment

Ali's legacy in pure boxing terms is much less than his legacy in terms of what he has achieved throughout his whole life. Frazier only lost to 2 men. His last fight with Ali could have gone either way, it could easily have been 2-1 to Frazier. Foreman had Fraziers number obviously.
Besides, my point was that walk forward fighters can be very successful. The analogy used in your sig about Ali is truely terrible.Comment

Is it terrible? What was Ali's career record against walk-forward fighters?Ali's legacy in pure boxing terms is much less than his legacy in terms of what he has achieved throughout his whole life. Liston, Frazier, Foreman....is that 5-1? with 4 KO's?Comment

I just hope that this fight lives up to expectations.
Lets be honest here, the sport needs these sort of fights.
As for slagging a fighter or discrediting his ability when we are talking about two multi weight world champions well that just not me.
Most of us on here either take part in this sport, have aspirations of taking part or follow it happily from ringside. Whatever the participation we probably will never be judged along side either of these two boxers so.......
As for the fight, Floyd is a master tactician with amazing skills, hand and foot speed and ring craft. Ricky is an all action brawler with great determination, heart and will power.
Floyds game plan will be to pepper Ricky with quick arm punches make him miss, keep him off balance, cut him up and drive his confidence into the ground to then comfortably win on a late stoppage or decision.
Rick's game plan will be to keep within Floyds range, bully him, work his flanks and draw him into a toe to toe battle or war of attrition.
Various factors will play a huge part - ring size, the referee and Ricky's wafer thin skin.
If the ring is at the limit size wise this fight could become a catch me if you can and will play into Floyds hands, if the referee jumps onto Ricky for his 'style' then this will play into Floyds hands and if Ricky cuts early then he will become anxious and make mistakes. However the opposite can apply, smaller ring, lenient ref and no cuts etc.
I see it going like this:
Floyd will attempt to stop Ricky in his tracks with a series of heavy handed straight punches as Hatton comes in, Hatton will clinch and Floyd will lean on and push off and move out.
Hatton will chase and will lose the first three rounds until Floyd slows down slightly and Hatton's body shots start to land. I see round 4 - 8 being slower and almost even with Floyd winning a couple or three and Ricky winning the same but putting a dent into the usually undentable Mayweather.
Rounds 9 -12 I see being messy but exciting with Ricky wearing down Mayweather with body work, head work and rough housing and Mayweather landing one two's. Ricky will lose a point I feel in these rounds and the fight will go to the cards.
I see Mayweather winning by three (I hope I am wrong) but then there being calls for a rematch.
If I am right hopefully both fighters will receive recognition which I feel they both deserve.
(alternatively this will be a bore fest, although I cannot see it)Comment
