I knew what I wanted when I started this thread... some sort of proof or something from your side. Still haven't gotten it.
Also, you missed the 2 posts above Ray Lewis's about when Tszyu signed to fight Hatton.Comment

To be honest... when he signed doesn't matter.
Floyd wanted to become a PPV star... no one can dispute that.
I would love to hear the argument that his beatdown of Gatti was not an incredible debut on PPV.
God, no one can come up with a good reason that he wasn't going to fight Tszyu after he was supposed to beat Hatton.Comment

LMAO
What's with the PPV bull****? You think by fighting Gatti instead of Tszyu his PPV status was raised? Wrong. A Tszyu-Mayweather fight back then would have been a blockbuster. But, evidently, being the marketing major that you seem to be, you've come onto a novel theory. Washed up Arturo Gatti was a bigger fight than Floyd actually fighting one of the greatest 140s of all time!
Wiley you are losing your creditablity. In all seriousness stop with your bull**** because you have no proof of this but your opinion.
I must admitt D, I think you got him with this thread. You will good Karma from me. This is some funny ****. Let me ask you this:
-If you want to present something and everybody is disagreeing, would you provide proof, right? So why hasnt Wiley provided ANY proof of his claim. You and Dios provided him with sources and articles and he still to this day have not provided one piece of evidence of his claim. Its fair to say D you
Wiley. D keep the good work homie.

Ray, you can hang your hat on anything you want. You can believe anything you want. This is just another case of a Mayweatherite refusing to see the facts that are right in front of his eyes.Comment

You never admit when you're wrong. Here is my PROOF of them owning you. It's in your own thread at that.http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=141007
You started a whole thread about and it back fired on you. Also Rod Barker owned that ass also. You're losing you creditablity as a poster. You are wrong most of the time so stop while you're ahead.Last edited by Ray Ray; 10-12-2007, 05:10 PM.Comment

I'm pretty tired of all this Mayweather ducked Tszyu ****.
Mayweather had 2 goals in mind when he went to 140.
1. Become a PPV star.
2. Fight Kostya Tszyu for the unified 140 championship.
His first goal was to become a PPV star, as to be able to bank big on the Tszyu fight. Why not fight the man at 140 on PPV, instead of WCB?
So, he choose the most exciting fighter in the division, who had a huge loyal fan following. He also had the WBC belt, which explains why Mayweather fought against Corley and Bruseles (both were WBC title eliminators):
2005-01-22 139 Henry Bruseles 138¾ 21-2-1
American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida, United States W TKO 8 12
~ time: 2:55 | referee: Jorge Alonso | judge: Harold Laurens | judge: Gerald Ritter | judge: Peter Trematerra ~
WBC Light Welterweight Title eliminator
Mayweather ahead 70-63, 70-62 and 69-64 going into the 8th, knocked Bruseles down twice and the ringside physician stopped the contest.
2004-05-22 140 DeMarcus Corley 140 28-2-1
Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey, United States W UD 12 12
~ referee: Benjy Esteves Jr. | judge: Melvina Lathan 119-107 | judge: Gale Van Hoy 118-108 | judge: William Boodhoo 119-108 ~
WBC Light Welterweight Title Eliminator
Corley down in 8th and 10th.

So anyways, Floyd wants to fight Gatti, and win in an impressive fashion, as to make his PPV debut absolutely stellar and make his prospects for being a PPV star rise in a big way.
At the same time, Kostya Tszyu was scheduled to fight Ricky Hatton, and was expected to win. That obviously didn't happen, so the Mayweather-Tszyu fight prospect was ruined. However, does this mean that Mayweather ducked Tszyu?
What is incredible is that none of the firm believers that Floyd ducked Tszyu can produce any piece of evidence that says that Mayweather pulled out of negotiations, or he asked for a ton of money. I also haven't seen anything that Tszyu says he wanted Mayweather. The closest I can get to that is that Tszyu said that all challengers were welcome.
Which sounds like they wanted the fight more? The guy who called out the other by name after fights at 130, 135 and 140, or the guy who just says that he will fight anyone? I'd say Mayweather was the one who was giving the more convincing case for actually wanting the fight.
Can anyone give any better counterlogic or sourced evidence that I am wrong or just your opinions with little to back them up?
There is one small flaw in your logic. Zab Judah! Yes, JudaH. Didn't Judah lose to baldo prior to fighting Floyd? Didn't Floyd still choose to fight Zab? Why then was the Tszyu fight a no go upon Tszyu's loss to Hatton?
There it is in a nutshell. Had Floyd really wanted Tszyu, he would have signed anyway.
It was a risk floyd chose to avoid. Just because a man weighs more does not necessarily mean he is more dangerous! Remember that the next time you proclaim somone great for beating a not so great bigger man.
That flawed logic is why floyd lovers can't come to grips with the assbeating Hatton is gonna put on Floyd.
To them, it's simple. DLH was bigger stronger and better. Completely flawed for two reasons.
First, Hattons style is completely different from DLH's.
Second Hatton is prime! DLH was 8 years past prime when he met Floyd.
I have stopped posting on the subject, and am content to let dec.8th say everything that needs saying.
I will return afterwards to gloat. of that you can be sure!Comment
