How many PPVs did his fight with Mayorga do again? Anyone? And half of that was probably Mayorga's following.
Come on now. These people become stars by fighting De La Hoya. The Mayorga PPV did almost 1 Million Buys! Mosley had no following when they fought either time. Mosley was fighting ESPN PPV undercards in 2005.

De La Hoya is the highest grossing PPV fighter in the history of the sport, he surpassed both Tyson and Holyfield who is number 2. I dont think any of his PPVs, with the exception of De La Hoya-Sturm, did below 500K buys. Yes, even his mismatch against Yory Boy Campas did about 600K buys.

Soto is advancing in age rapidly and already has 5 losses (just the way Pac likes them), Guzman is already 31 and still doesn't have a standout name on his record (aside from Barrios, but nobody aside from diehards know him), and he wants no part of Marquez until 2012 when Juan's joints have been crippled by arthritis.
LOL. It his not his fault that men in his division get old fast, especially when they face him. and preying on smaller men is weak excuse. Pac is a small man himself, it's not like his huge or something. dude, i don't see why you can't acknowledge that JMM is the one ducking PAC. He was like MAB before, they issue challenges and then go the other way around. JMM won't fight Pac. How old wil be PAC be in 2012? Old enough to be beaten by JMM because PAC won't have the same speed and stamina as now. JMM being the boxer most probably will win in 2012, but if it happens now, it won't happen.

by the way, settling a debate urging PAC to move up to welterweight has bias written all over it.

Dude, I'm just ****ing around... I know Oscar is the star... I haven't made a serious post in this thread yet... because... well, I doubt this thread was intended to be serious at any point.

It's a no win fight for Mayweather. If he wins, he still loses for fighting a much smaller fighter.

If we have to bring up weight. How about bringing up Mayweather backing out of the Wright fight, which he called Wright out for in 2006. He wanted to fight Wright at 154. Wright agreed to everything under the sun to make it happen and Mayweather back out of it by making a ridiculous money demand at the last minute. They agreed on 55-45 I think, and then Mayweather wanted 65-35 or something like that.

catch weight of 144??? are you serious??? you call that a catch weight? geez. PAC weighed 144 at FIGHT NIGHT for crying out loud.

i'll throw it back to you. Mayweather fight at a catch weight 135-138 and then after the fight, can go back to 154 or wherever he would like to be. Being the best, he should fight PAC at his best and not blow him up to reduce his biggest asset which is speed. Don't go mexican on me now wth that comprende thing, does not help your argument.

Does it really matter what weight it is at if both fighters come in at the same weight? Seriously, a super middleweight fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather would look the same as those two fighting at welterweight.

Like I have been saying, they weigh basically the same on fight night... who cares?

Also, guy's don't get old fast in his division... when a fighter has been fighting for 16 years, they didn't get "get old fast." True for both Morales and Pacquiao. They each had over 60 bouts at that point.

Wow, I actually did not know that... I learned something about Mayweather, for real. Thanks. Do you have a link or anything? I would like to read about this before commenting, and I would genuinely just like to know about it too.

I said 144 as the catchweight, so they could skip the drying out process... lord Jesus, how many times are you going to make me type drying out process? Whatever, 137 would be a decent catchweight. I don't care... they will end up the same on fight night regardless.

you're not getting what i mean. Whenever Manny beats someone, they are old. Barrera outboxed Juarez and everybody says he is the master techinican and when Pac wins over him, he's old. Get the picture?
