Floyd is a mix of James Toney and RJJ. he is multidimensional, but Pernell could do all and more.
he fought OUTSTANDING on the outside, and was a textbook fighter on the inside if youve seen the right fights. Floyd tends to defend defend defend and then counter on the inside, then pop out. Floyd has a beautiful left hook and right hand, but Pernell had it all, one of the best jabs of all time, excellent left hand, good uppercuts and hooks and was an amazing body puncher. Floyd has a good jab, but not as good as sweet peas, and he doesnt use it as often.
and while Pernell may have been down more times than Floyd, Pernell has been hurt less times than Floyd. the one time before the Trinidad fight I remember Pernell actually being really hurt by a punch was in his 13th or something fight against Roger Mayweather...his other knockdowns like against McGirt were off balance type ones.
um anyways...Whitaker was more complete
