Hatton fights for his fans? eh come on ... he's a nice guy and all, and definetly wouldn't turn his home people against him. (like some american fighters) but over in Britian its more a national issue than it is here

and common sense, of course the UK would have more fan support for Hatton than the average American boxer (hint boxing is pretty low on the totem poll in the USA behind baseball, basketball, and football)

"Fact is the arena isn't big enough to accommodate the amount of fans who would willingly fly over from Britain to see the fight."

so what the **** do you want Vegas to do? build a stadium that seats 50 thousand and call it the Ricky Hatton Dome?

or is that not enough people? (50,000) seriously .. its human nature to complain. what if they did get a stadium that seated 40,000 would that make you satisfied?

why should Vegas bend over backwards to accomadate Hatton. MGM was good enough for Tyson, Holyfield, De LA Hoya etc

contrary take this example ... not the sport but the same idea.

Boston Red Sox fans have to drive and sometimes travel all across the USA just to see their team play they go to Anaheim, Montreal, Baltimore hell even Texas.

and you'd think "well can't the fans in Boston just buy tickets to home games" .. no because thanks to season ticket holders ... tickets to home games will probably be sold out for the next 5-6 years or so.

lets say Hatton and his team did get a hold of and were able to reserve 10,000 seats for Brits only how would you feel if you were the 5,0000th person in line, and got turned away, because the only seats left were reserved?

          I was stating a fact, I wasn't asking for a solution.

Admit though that it's a damn shame these huge money making casino's don't have larger arenas.

No big deal. Hatton fans will get in. I expect him to have at least 7,000.

well admit this .. that even if the arenas were larger

people will still find a way to complain.

              you can't deny that

if they could get a 20, 000 seat arena .. people would want bigger ..

Those places aren't really for sporting events casino's make more off of ******** than anything so making a bigger arena isn't really a priority for them. Also I think those places where they hold the fights are kind of old.

the arena size only seems a problem when its Hatton fighting.

I've never heard complains about tickets in the past.

and like I said before, people will always find a way to complain about something.

the reason the Arenas are smaller is because they are arenas

stadiums fit more. think about a baseball or soccer game. which are held in stadiums

what can you do, if they want to hold the fight in Vegas, but don't have any stadiums in Vegas?

Think about what you just said... The Pinoys... the Mexicans... the Puerto Ricans...

The Brazilians would lose their minds when Popo fought. Flags, soccer jerseys, etc.

                    FLOYD IS AMERICAN!!

Did you see that for Holyfield? Jones? Mosley? ...even Tyson?

American fans don't do that. Ethnic ********** or foreign fans root for their fighter for nationalism. It is deeply emotional for them. Americans don't generally do that. It isn't a part of their culture.

Evander Holyfield (aka Evan Fields) has sold BIG numbers. Fans clap when he walked in, then sat the **** down, and watched the fight. No gay little songs, no signs, no sissy dances.

Why is he mad? Did he actually think his offer was reasonable? He wants over HALF of the tickets to himself, that was not going to happen. If this wasn't about brinigng in money for MGM grand than maybe they would have a shot but we all know that's not the case.
