Hatton pissed off about ticket allocation.

It is reported that unbeaten Jr-welterweight Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton is unhappy about the ticket allocation for his upcoming "super-fight" with Floyd Mayweather at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on December 10th. The Manchester Evening News reports that Team Hatton have only been allocated 3,900 tickets for the travelling army of Hatton's fans. For the recent fight with Jose Luis Castillo in June in Las Vegas some 9,000 fans travelled from the UK alone. It is estimated that some 13,000 fans may have already booked hotels and flights from the UK prior to the tickets going on sales such is the anticipation for the fight in the UK. Hatton's father Ray Hatton commented, "I have never seen Ricky more gutted than this. We are trying to swap some of the more expensive tickets to get more tickets for Ricky's fans." It is estimated that of a 15,150 capacity for the event Hatton and Mayweather will each get 3,900 tickets and Golden Boy Promotions will be allocated 2,350 with a third being allocated to the MGM Grand for hotel guests and "high rollers" that will come into Vegas for the event. Team Hatton initially requested 10,000 for the event given the UK exodus for the Castillo fight in June

What the hell is Floyd gonna do with 3,900 tickets? In reality, he has only 2 fans. Leonard Ellerbe and 50 Cent.

first of all the fights is on the 8th, not the 10th

        second of all

too ****ing bad. awww the army of Brits can't chant the entire time .. boo ****in hooo (does Hatton need a crowd advantage every fight he's in?)

PS the reported 10,000 for the Castillo-Hatton fight is OVERBLOWN .. ESPN themselves said 7,000 went.

your not even seeing the MGM Grand's side of it.

Hatton and his team asked for 10,000 tickets? thats crazy

thats well over half the entire capacity of the MGM Grand.

your telling me, the MGM Grand which holds a lil over 16 thousand .. is gonna only leave 5,000 tickets for celebrities and Americans?

Exactly. Hatton's request is unreasonable. The capacity had been set at 16,800 and Ricky wanted more than half of that to himself? **** that. He gets just as much as Floyd gets and the rest of his fans can compete for tickets just like everyone else in the world.

BTW, this is a good read: Manchester Evening News

Everyone deserves an equal shot at the tickets. The reason that celebrities (British, American, Armenian, Australian, French, German, or Chinese) get tickets for free is because the venue (in this case the MGM Grand) subsidizes the tickets because these people, who tend to be rich and spend lots of money, will stay at their hotel, gamble at their casino, buy in their stores, and leave tons of money in their establishment.

Not only that, they're like magnets for regular folks. Everyone wants to go out at night and hang out where 50 Cent, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Shakira, and Scarlett Johansen are hanging out. They bring in the little fish which is more money for them.

This isn't being decided on the grounds that people don't want British fans there. It's being done for $$$$$$$$$$$$.
