Think about what you just said... The Pinoys... the Mexicans... the Puerto Ricans...

The Brazilians would lose their minds when Popo fought. Flags, soccer jerseys, etc.

      FLOYD IS AMERICAN!!

Did you see that for Holyfield? Jones? Mosley? ...even Tyson?

American fans don't do that. Ethnic ********** or foreign fans root for their fighter for nationalism. It is deeply emotional for them. Americans don't generally do that. It isn't a part of their culture.

Evander Holyfield (aka Evan Fields) has sold BIG numbers. Fans clap when he walked in, then sat the **** down, and watched the fight. No gay little songs, no signs, no sissy dances.
There's something vaguely sad about North American sports. The music playing, the scoreboards telling the crowd when and what to chant. The sponteneity that you get at the football, the rugby, hell even the cricket just isn't enjoyed in the same way in the US and Canada.

I agree. I attended a football game in Brazil. Unbelievable.

I want to say that it's because of the corporate environment, but all of the FC's in Europe are sponsored by big corporations, too.

Maybe it's because there are so many breaks in the action in NFL and NBA. All of the commercial breaks suck the energy out of the crowd.

Perhaps it's because the English are so staid in other aspects of their lives , while Americans are more expressive. Euros need the outlet. Who knows?

          But American sports suck.

Now that is some funny ****!!!!!!! I think Floyd is actually paying 50 to kick it with him, that **** on 24/7 was so fake.

Personally I can't see why Hatton's fans 'deserve' more tickets than floyd's - the remaining tickets should just be put on the net/phone and sold first come first served, so if you realy want to go - get on that phone.

Am I the only one that doesn't like the fat drunk aggressive crowds that Ricky pulls in. he's a world class athlete that is supported by a load of football thugs. i was at the Tszyu and Maussa fights and made a decision not to go to a hatton fight again, it's like going to a Chelsea game. 95% of the people there were rabid about Hatton and had next to no boxing knowledge.

Sorry to sound like a snob, but I don't find continual repetitive chants from massive sweaty slobs "a good atmosphere".

the again, i bet they'll still waste all their money getting over there and buying off touts rather than spending it on their kids.

Because you are very tied-in to the elite boxing and hip-hop circles.... right?

                  .
Please refer to the thread "The greatness of Ricky Hatton"

I posted a video clip of Ricky virtually taking a dump in the ring. The actual boxing action is nearly unwatchable. Meanwhile the groupies are screaming "Yeah, Ricky!!"... "Get him Ricky"... etc.

That is what makes the Hatton groupies so insufferable. And leads RH to believe that he is actually an "exciting" fighter.

Much of the hate that Rickety gets isn't directed so much at him, as it is reflected hate directed towards his obnoxious groupies. Those are the people who will tell you that Hatton beat a prime Castillo.

He's fed up because he would have loved for his army of fans, who have followed him for the long haul, to have been able to witness this fight at ringside.

                      William,

How many American fans travel overseas to go see their team play? In fact - other than college football - how many fans travel to see ANY team play...even domestically?

If Oscar had a fight in France, would 10,000 fans fly over there? How many fans flew to Tokyo to see Tyson fight?

                      It's a different culture.
