I will guess McDonald's have the best "promoters" too, they sell allot but they don't have the best product. At the end of the day people wants proper food, sitting in a restaurant and eating with a fork and a knife at get serve meals done with the best ingredients. Thats how boxing will prevail. The best fighting the best and this years match making are just spot on!!
(one or two big burgers are still aloud )

alot of the casual fans of boxing, the types that would catch every tyson fight including his last one, were just people who wanted to see two guys in a ring trying to take their heads off with punches. thats all it ever was to them

they didnt value boxing skills, technique. they didnt care about skill or technique, or any specifics whatsoever about the sport

all they wanted to see was the closest **** to the roman colesseum as possible. mma fits that bill better than boxing does.

but still, there will be plenty of mma viewers who get tired of seeing two guys rolling around on the ground together, lets apart like two guys in a san fran sisco bath house, and they'll want to come back to boxing and see a great fist fight

but they wont know where to start, where to read about it, which fighters will provide the real excitement. boxing has to fix that problem, more than anything else. I support a federal commission, moreso for that than for any fighters rights/anti promoter reasons.

boxing needs a ceo just like ufc has in dana white, just like the nba has in david stern. sports leagues are corporations now. they need a CEO, and boxing doesnt have one. thats its problem

          Kameda.

Didn't one of them give a really horrible performance and won the match?

Again with the MMA hate threads.

Damn, you all are in denial. The least an MMA event sold in PPV for a loooong time was 300K for Hughes vs. Gracie. that's more than alot of boxing PPVs get. I'm not hating on boxing, but MMA definetly took over boxing. It's all over ESPN and the news, and they sell alot more. You guys talk about MMA on a boxing forum whether it's complaining or admiring. You don't have boxing being discussed in MMA forums.

Free fight nights on Spike TV gets ratings in the millions. HBO fights can't manage to get 500K viewers sometimes.

Again, I'm not picking one or the other, but it will only take a person in denial to not see what I'm saying.

Um, whaaaat? PRIDE events sold out arenas that fill 70,000-90,000.
Russia and Asia are two continents that admire MMA.

Other than that he actually made some good points, but still it just goes to show you how ignorant the media is when they talk MMA vs. boxing
Well to be fair, Couture had to do alot with it other than punch/block. I think he was emphasizing on that part.

Also, I don't know why boxing fans are talking about this. If you don't like MMA, then don't watch. I don't like Tennis. Hell, a lot of people think it's whack and boring, but it's still going on, their fans are still watching, it won't ever die....same for boxing and every other sport.

lol. see, i really wish you knew what u were talkin about.

There was ONE pride main even RUMORED to have sold out in a week, and sold 100,000 seats!!!! i was really impressed.

But then the actual results came in, and they said less then 25,000 seats sold, and 18,000 of them had free tickets.

please man, if your gonna compete with me get ur facts straight

Oh, and Boxing is undoubtedy MUCH bigger in Russian and Asian then MMA. its not even a discussion, even you can admit that. A japanese boxer had 60,000,000 viewers for one of his fights. And Russia ADMIRES and ADORES the klitschkos

Yeah you should really educate yourself about MMA. Pride was monstrous in Asia. Monstrous. Do some reading...all you are is a boxer fanboy with an obvious agenda. I watch and learn from both sports/
