I'm gradually enjoying MMA. It's almost pure, for the simple fact the fights don't go to decisions.

But if MMA does take over, they're fighters are going to have to adjust to boxing, since even MMA fighters enjoy KO's over submissions.

But submissions should never be disrespected, if your in a real fight, and manage to snap a guys leg or arm...he can't fight anymore at all. respect that..

Its not because of the fighters, its because of the name.

They promote the shows as UFC shows.

Its UFC 7234 not, fighter v fighter. They promote the brand, not the fighter

People as you "Did you see the UFC fight?"

They dont ask you, "did you see so and so vs so and so?"
While the UFC name alone does draw there are big differences in buy rates depending on who’s headlining.

No, speaking at least to UFC and Pride it's fanbase is drawn more from professional wrestling than boxing.

It's embarassing that so many people are threatened when other people's interests don't directly match theirs. If you prefer boxing to MMA, fine - but why feel the need to namecall and stereotype like you would taunting some kid in junior high?

Obviously MMA is gaining new fans right now as the sport is growing; if you're not one of the folks feeling the UFC or EliteXC or K-1, then keep watching boxing. But taunting fans who like both, or who like only MMA shows a silly inability to coexist with other sports fans who have different favorites & shows a ridiculous form of close-mindedness and reducing MMA to "gay wrestling holds" and "sheer strength, no-skill" shows an ignorance that demonstrates that you're not qualified to speak on the sport...

But then the actual results came in, and they said less then 25,000 seats sold, and 18,000 of them had free tickets.

please man, if your gonna compete with me get ur facts straight

Oh, and Boxing is undoubtedy MUCH bigger in Russian and Asian then MMA. its not even a discussion, even you can admit that. A japanese boxer had 60,000,000 viewers for one of his fights. And Russia ADMIRES and ADORES the klitschkos
Funny how you claim I don't know what I'm talking about, but yet you post up some unsourced bull****.

your just hopeless, eating up every last thing you can and trying to use it to ur advantage. Boxing is and will always be MUCH more popular world wide then MMA.

and im done here, i cant win an argument with a guy who KNOWS hes lost, but continues to argue anyways. Your to immature to admit u've actually just lost an argument, and lost it badly. Ive got facts on my side, uve got nothing
                You haven't proven anything.

If you really wanna set up a FightNight 2007 vs. Kball15 MMA-Boxing debate thread then set it up and we can get real serious. Don't ever test me when it comes to debates.

                  57-59 sellin 400K

UFC 61(Shamrock vs. Ortiz 2) did 775,000 buys

                  UFC 66 did 1million +

I'll get the stats for the other PPVs soon.

But like I said to begin with...UFC aint had less than 300K buys in a LONG time *****.

That event drew approximately 260,000 PPV buys, which is very impressive given the much smaller number of American homes that had PPV-buying capabilities in 1995.
UFC in 1995, sold 250K with virtually no way other than word of mouth to get publicity.....What did David Tua sell? ***** shut up, you lost already.
