seeing as your mexican, would you know how popular both fighters are in mexico, do more people like morales in mexico?? is it 50/50??? who do mexicans relate to more??? are there certain parts in mexico where barrera might have more fans, or morales might have more fans??Im mexican and of course i like Morales more, Barrera s a stuplid classless ****, Morales is arrogant but he's only a**** if youre a **** to him, whie barrera makes excuses when he loses, always says he was robbed, punches in press conferences, tells mexicans like him indios, thinks he is a better person cus his skin is lighter, thinks he is abetter person because he had money growing up....Comment

what i'm about to say might get morales fans mad, but i dont mean to get any morales fans angry with what im about to say......
we all know morales has heart, but how did you fans feel when he got knocked down for the third time against pacman and he just stayed there? he could have got up but he didnt? where was he heart there?? in all the fights ive seen morales in, he has NEVER given up, in that 3rd fight with pacquiao he just seemed to give up, it was like he didnt wanna fight, his father and his corner were telling him to get up but he didnt want to, i have never associated that with erik morales as a fighter. even when the chips were down, when morales seemed down and out, he would always find a way to fight back..... until the 3rd fight with pacman.
morales is still a legend in my eyes, i was just shocked when i saw morales not get up, thats all im trying to say.
i didnt feel bad, it was the moent i realized morales was finished for good...i did feel very sad, but id rather see him like that than going out on a stretcher , he has already shown all the heart in the word in previous fghts, it was just too much humiliation for him i guess, having never been down as easily and knowing you dont have the legs to fight anymore.....i seriously feel it was the best way to go for him, as he said, its better to realize when getting up isnt worth it because it is to no avail....Comment

Mexicans in general are just starting to follow boxing, because since chavez left there hasnt been any strong following so most people dont really know about boxing, however the ones that are general boxing fans like Morales much more almost 80/20, in fact experts here rate morales higher than barrera in greatness too...Comment

i always thought that if barrera was not around, morales would get all the accolades, and if morales was not around then barrera would get all the accolades. i think its great that both barrera and morales were around the same era. they had a great rivalry and they have both given so much to boxing and have great legacies.Comment

I don't think anyone who hasn't met Marco has the right to speak on how much of a "****" he is, going by word of mouth or internet rumors or what Morales' camp says about Barrera isn't a smart move. Barrera has always been a shining example of sportsmanship, he just loses his temper sometimes like he did with Morales, Hamed, and Marquez. I don't think any human being has the right to vilify another person for getting caught in the midst of their emotions.
I think Mexican fans in general have always disliked Barrera simply because he's not a "true" Mexican fighter. He didn't grow up poor, he didn't have to struggle to survive, and he didn't use boxing as a way to improve his lot in life the way many Mexican legends have. Morales is the anti-Barrera, more along the lines of what the Mexican experience is for most Mexicans.
I think a lot of Morales' fans resent Barrera for that fact, as well as the bad things people say of Barrera. After their first fight Barrera went over to embrace Morales and shake hands but Morales refused. Morales paints himself as a "true" Mexican and Barrera as a "wanna be" and Morales' fans buy into it. Barrera will always be the better of the two, and if he beats Pacquiao like I believe he will in the rematch, nothing Erik Morales could do would change it.Comment
