I don't think any human being has the right to vilify another person for getting caught in the midst of their emotions.

I think Mexican fans in general have always disliked Barrera simply because he's not a "true" Mexican fighter. He didn't grow up poor, he didn't have to struggle to survive, and he didn't use boxing as a way to improve his lot in life the way many Mexican legends have. Morales is the anti-Barrera, more along the lines of what the Mexican experience is for most Mexicans.

I think a lot of Morales' fans resent Barrera for that fact, as well as the bad things people say of Barrera. After their first fight Barrera went over to embrace Morales and shake hands but Morales refused. Morales paints himself as a "true" Mexican and Barrera as a "wanna be" and Morales' fans buy into it. Barrera will always be the better of the two, and if he beats Pacquiao like I believe he will in the rematch, nothing Erik Morales could do would change it.
no internet rumours here man, the guy has shown he is a ****...and most peolple respect barrera for fighting evn though he didnt need to....i know i do, and for the record, morales hugged barrera after the first fight and praised him, then barrera went and said he wasnt any good it is in the post fight interviews, i can upload it if you dont believe me....

morales then got a lot fo attacks from the media after barrera was screamng everywhere that he was robbed and morales wasnt any good...

he hit kennedy mckinney when mckinney was jsut saying he respected him but he couldnt beat him(mckinney was a little agressive while saying that though...)

his camp threw water at both junior jones and pacquiao when he was getting his ass kicked....

he hit hamed when naz wasnt even doing anything to him...

in the press conference of the second morales fight he hit morales when they were talking trash to each other and ran like a *****, he said he was better because he had more spanish blood in him not like morales who was an indio...

he always makes excuses when he loses, and he's a dirty fighter...

I think youare the one that bought HBO's hype that Marco is the good guy my friend....

Which fight was it then that Barrera went up to Morales afterward and tried to bury the hatchet? I guess it was fight 2. I know Barrera went up to him after one of their fights and Morales blew him off. I do think it was very wrong of Marco to say Morales wasn't any good, I don't know about the comments that Barrera was more "pure" than Erik, but if it's true it's ****ed up and I wouldn't forgive Barrera either.

I love Barrera but I dislike his camp, I remember the water throwing instants and that was what made me hate his camp. I would've hit Hamed too because Hamed was an *******, plain and simple. He said prior to the Barrera/Morales fight he wanted to fight the winner, well Morales won even though I disagreed, and Hamed opted to go for Barrera. I suppose thinking he could pick his leftovers after the brutal fight with Morales, and he was smacked back to reality.

Barrera and Morales remind me a lot of Ali and Frazier, so much so it's spooky. They genuinely hate each other and don't really realize how much they gave the fans of this sport, they used the media to attack each other constantly, the only difference is Ali and Frazier eventually made up. I really wish Marco and Erik could.....

They are 2 of the best fighters of their generation, and all time Mexican greats that really needed each other to bring out the best in them. Without Barrera there'd be no Morales, and without Morales there'd be no Barrera.

I'm Mexican and I'm with Barrera all the way! He's my favorite active fighter, and while both have impressive resumes, I feel that he's just an overall better boxer and warrior than Morales.

As far as him being a "****," I've met him twice and he was always polite and respectful to me and my family. He even picked up my wife and I's dinner tab the second time we met him! Cool guy!

Every fighter uses the occassional dirty tactics and even though it's wrong, his tempermant just makes his fights more exciting. Plus, it's not like he uses fouls to win his fights.

And as far as the excuses he makes for losing, EVERY fighter gives an excuse one time or another. Against JM Marquez, many people thought he won (including me) and I'm sure he was frustrated as hell he didn't get the win. Against Morales the first time, he should've won! (Although I thought he should've lost the second time, so it's even) With Pacquiao, he had a lot of stuff going on: fires forced him to change his training plans, metal plate and I think he was going through a divorce too. Anyway, he'll have his shot to redeem himself, I just think it's probably too late.

Regardless who you like better, they'll both be remembered as Great Mexican fighters and deserve respect, which I think is shown from fans of either fighter, which is a good thing. Neither of them are perfect, but who is? It's a shame they hate each other so much.

indeed i hope for the same...because i love how marco fights...

it was in the thrid fight that barrera tried to hug erik, and erik threw the bottle of water he was drinking to barrera's side in a "**** it after the cheap shot, the trash talk, the racial slur, you come and try to hug me hypocrite????..." IMO Morales couldve forgiven him, but if he doesnt, i understand.......

and his camp is cheap...remember also the "funny" taping in the second juarez fight and they tried to do the same with vazquez's taping in his fight with marquez...

They got away with it 'cause it probably isn't against the rules. Besides, we've done that in the gym before and it doesn't make any difference. It feels a little different but in the end gives you no advantage.

Manny Steward was surprised they got away with it, but what would he know.

Morales is one of my very favorites and he's the better fighter as well. Better at lighter weights, better at higher weights, more consistent, more talent.
