In a way I give more props to MAB, because how many rich kids do you see in boxing and reach the status that MAB has(MAB didn't have to take a licking to put food on the table, he could've easily have said screw this I'll work for Daddy). Fighters who were or are poor and become successful in the fight game are plenty. There's a good number of fighters throughout boxing's history who have had real-life "Rocky" stories.

I like Barrera and he's the better fighter! I'm glad I was at the Barrera - Naz fight. I, like many fans didn't give MAB a chance. Not too many fighters can switch styles in the middle of their career like Barrera has.
    me too i respect.

    Are you Thia?

I happen to love Muay Thai, more so than boxing. It's too bad we hardly get any coverage of World-Class Muay Thai here in the U.S. The K-1 heavyweights they show over and over on ES*N and ES*N2 are crap, they're just as bad as the heavyweights in boxing today w/ little or no skill at all. It's a d*mn shame!

How can someone not like watching a sport where it involves kicking, punching, elbows, knees and throws over punching only. I'll never know. And please don't even bring up MMA, those guys are simply horrible, they need to stick to grappling only

Morales was always happy to give someone a rematch and fought the best even when he was past it.

If I had to pick I'd go with Marco Antonio Barrera, because of his attitude and inring skill. He always had Morales' number, plus everytime someone counts him out he comes back and amazes people with his performances. Happened after he lost to Junior Jones, happened when nobody thought he'd beat Nasim hamed, happened after the first loss to Morales.

Morales is a straight up brawler, with a little boxing skill. Barrera can be either at anytime he wants to be, switching styles whenever he feels it suits him. Add to that the fact that he loved the sport so badly he decided to scrap a career as a lawyer to pursue it, and you have one of the greatest guys in the last 10 years.

Yeah, it's true, Roach even said it happened on the countdown to Pac Morales III. He was out of line saying that after Erik had just fought his heart out and beat Pac.

actually Morales is better boxer than Barrera because he has the reach and good jab. but he doesnt use it.

Barrera overall is better fighter. many people in boxing regard Barrera as on of the best fighters in lower weight class and the best mexician fighter in this era and one of the best fighters in this era.

you alway hear the commetators and guest commetator praising Barrera

I don't know if you reside in the U.S, the Philippines, etc.. But I live in Southern California where all those forest fires took place. I live nowhere near those forest fires but it was so big that people and businesses in many urban areas were strongly urged to stay home and close shop for the day or more, if you experienced what we experienced here in SoCal it was like a scene from a Horror story, the downtown areas was a ghost town, do you know what the term "Perfect Storm is? Well, those forest fires were just like it, it was three seperate forest fires that converged. Barrera's camp was closer to the forest fires, here you are preparing for an animal like PAC and you have been forced out of your camp, it has to mess with one's psyche and to add to that the "metal plate in his head story" got leaked.

I think MAB has a legit excuse, the forest fires, metal plate in his head, and PAC's deadly fists are too much to deal with all at one time. But at the end of Oct 6 PAC will prove once more why he has been nicknamed the "THE DESTROYER"

Morales would be a great boxer, he just can't use his head. He feels the need to go toe-to-toe with everybody even when it's not in his best intrest. Some would call it bravado, I call it ****** machismo. There's no point in taking shots you don't have to just to prove how tough you are. But I doubt Morales would be a better boxer than Barrera, Barrera wouldn't have let Zahir Raheem jab his face off for 12 rounds that's for damn sure.

Don't get me wrong, I love "El Terrible" a lot. I'm just saying Barrera is clearly the better of the two. And the reason why everybody praises Barrera and ranks him among Mexican greats and one of the greatest of his era is because he's done more than enough to earn it. He's been mowed down, flattened, forgotten and written off yet he still continues to thrive and move forward through the adversity.

Barrera is an all time great in my eyes.

Want to put some points on that? I'll match whatever you want that Barrera takes Pacquiao in a unanimous decision.
