the fact that you are new to footage of robinson speaks volumes on what you are new to or not new to.

That's normal for everyone i guess, I watched Hearns, Hagler, Leonard, Duran long before I watched Robinson, Armstrong, Burley, Pep, Charles.

Ok I just found a video of him fighting Jake Lamotta. He was good, but to say he was the greatest? that's a little pushing it, I think the style back then was a little too primitive for the 80s+ fighters. i think a middleweight Hearns would have beaten him since he was taller and had longer reach and Hagler would probably KO him. but the rest would have a tough time with him.

Not true, as he was recorded on camera quite frequently back then and even to this day there's still some footage of him that's left over from his welterweight days (there's at least him vs. Angott*, Flores, Fusari*, and Abrams), contrary to what some of you may believe.

*I've personally seen these two.

Robinson is on ESPN Classic often. Even with the new programming where many of the classic fights are from this century, or at least since 1980, there are old fights on some mornings that are worth seeking out...

He broke a rule, was penalized for it, and as a consequence lost the bout. And it's not like he was way up on the cards when he fouled either... He likely would have won the fight had he not fouled, but this is a historical thread, and in written history, Jones has an 'L'. Is there a huge difference between slipping up briefly and throwing an illegal punch and slipping up briefly and walking into a punch and losing by KO?
