so, its micky ward. what have you got against him? who cares who gatti fought with? it was three great fights. stop nitpicking.
I don't have anything against Micky Ward. I kinda like Mick. Seems like a good guy. But good fighters do not get into life-and-death struggles with pugilists on the caliber of Micky Ward.

Good fighters don't get into highly competitive battles with Ivan Robinson.

Please understand what I am saying (and don't be hyper-sensitive here): The fact that you are always struggling with average and below-average fighters means that is what you are yourself.

having average skill doesnt mean ur an average fighter. boxing is a game of skill and will. skill isnt everything.

In my opinion, a hall of fame should be a celebration of the sport. The inductees, however, should be the best practioners of that sport.

I didn't say anything about skill. I said that if you consistently struggle with average fighters, that should tell you about yourself.

if not skill, what are you judging on that makes gatti an average fighter?

his heart and will are anything but average.

hes more of a fighter than most boxers today could ever hope to be. one little tidbit of info: only two fighters in history have ever fought both oscar de la hoya and floyd mayweather. they are genaro hernandez and arturo gatti. gatti fought the two best fighters of this generation. hes got heart and balls, at least give him that much.

                Kayo,

Is this the post you are referring to?

                a) I can name you a pretty long list of scrubs who won titles.

                b) Gatti doesn't have a "huge HBO contract". But if he did, that is unrelated to his ability as a fighter... isn't it? In fact, despite being blown out in three of his last four fights, there is probably still a large group of shiny-tracksuit-wearing, Camaro-driving types who would pack the tables at the Borgata after leaving Boardwalk Hall.
