Let me just get this straight. Are you suggesting that Floyd v Hatton will do anywhere near 2m PPV buys in the US? If you're not then you have no reason to keep bringing it up. Those numbers relate to 1 fighter and 1 fighter only so they aren't relevent in this thread. If you want to talk about the figures that matter then we're looking at figures in the 300s for US sales.

The last Sky PPV fight that I bought was a Naz fight if I recall so it didn't do 2m, it did 400k+.

OK, maybe appalling was the wrong terminology. Average amongst current US based fighters is better. Certainly not the weight of numbers to be making ridiculous financial demands off the back of.

Point is it ain't happening in the Uk and we don't want to see it in the UK. Just because it can sell more at the live gate doesn't mean it will generate more $$$ than being in the US. And plus if the fight is in the UK, nobody would buy the PPV because they would all be at the fight. And his #s aren't average, he is a step above the rest of the fighters besides delahoya.

America has a much bigger population and more potential buyers, why the Hell would they wanna appeal to the UK market more than the US market? which is what cletus was saying.

they can hold the fight at 3 am like they the zoo fight so that its at a good time for americans to watch. uk loves ricky so much they will show up any time. i dont care where it happens. i just want to see mayweather fight a good fighter in his prime for once even if its the weakest of the elites.

Even if there was more money available by doing the fight in the UK, I would sacrifice the $ for legitimacy and fairness. I'm not singling out the UK, but there is no way an American fighter gets a fair deal from English judges/referee when an English national hero is fighting. Sure Mayweather is American but most people in the US give a damn about boxing and especially don't care about Mayweather. Plus I agree with the earlier post that location would surely negatively affect PPV and therefore should be in Vegas. Also, since we already know that Hatton's fans will travel in mass why not have the fight at MSG where they could do big gate and PPV numbers.

his skill does not apply to basic reading. this was not a ppv. it sounds like if you order an hbo subscription and you get whatever fights they show as part of the subscription. you dont get the hbo ppvs with the subscription.

There's no good having more potential customers if they won't buy the fight. My point was that it would not sell more in the US than it would in the UK at prime viewing time, regardless of population. 600k > 3-400k is it not?

that i agree with. the uk already robbed zoo of a fair fight against hatton. i think we would get fair judges in the usa and the refs have already shown that they allow hatton to clinch in the usa too.
