After 10 years and 42 fights Ricky Hatton has left Sky and will have his next fight, which is arguably his toughest, against Jose Luis Castillo on Setanta pay-per-view.
The move was officially announced yesterday and put an end to six weeks of speculation surrounding the fight on 23 June, which will take place at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.

"We're thrilled to be working with the UK's most popular and talented boxer. It is further proof that Setanta is a force,'' said Trevor East, the Irish-based company's director of sport. East has been involved in the business of boxing for a long time having worked closely with Frank Warren first at ITV in the Nineties and then at Sky.

The deal for Hatton to fight on Setanta is a coup for the boxer's promoter, Dennis Hobson. In addition to the Hatton pay-per-view, Hobson has secured a six-fight package for his own boxers, including the International Boxing Federation light-heavyweight champion Clinton Woods.
"This is, I believe, the right move at the right time because I believe that boxing desperately needs a new look and that is what we have got here," said Hobson.

Hatton has asked the Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to carry his International Boxing Organisation light-welterweight title belt into the ring in Vegas. Rooney, whose father won amateur titles and whose uncle runs a gym, will be in Vegas to support Hatton with his United colleagues Ryan Giggs, Wes Brown and John O'Shea. "I know Wayne is a big boxing fan and I used to box for England with his uncle Richie," Hatton said.

Let me just get this straight. Are you suggesting that Floyd v Hatton will do anywhere near 2m PPV buys in the US? If you're not then you have no reason to keep bringing it up. Those numbers relate to 1 fighter and 1 fighter only so they aren't relevent in this thread. If you want to talk about the figures that matter then we're looking at figures in the 300s for US sales.

The last Sky PPV fight that I bought was a Naz fight if I recall so it didn't do 2m, it did 400k+.
