Gayweather will be forgotten the next day after he retires....he is not one of the greatest....the guy cannot fill seats in his fights..he depends on the other boxers....if delahoya beats him , it'll destroy any recognition as a great fighter to most if not everybody....delahoya is a b fighter . everytime he stepped it up he lost...only the greats beat the best....remember what happen to pernell whitaker..he lost to delahoya and 99.9% of americans would not be able to point him out in a line up....that is gayweather's fate....

I also agree that it doesnt really matter if he beats DLH.

Of course DLH is good, but he is no longer a guage of how high up you are up in the elite and p4p level. DLH has been semi retired only fighting on brief occassions for money milking it for all its worth.

If anything this fight has the potential to be boring, and if it is , it will be very bad for the sport of boxing.

I'm with Hugh Grant on this one.
He put it very cleanly when he compared this to RJJ's trip to heavyweight.
Now I'm not dissing Mayweather; lovely fighter and worthy of every accolade while fighting. However, DLH is just the start of his history making.
Retiring now will negatively effect his legacy and that would be a shame.
Since his early days he has cherry picked as he has risen in weight but that is forgiveable if he finishes with a few top-of-the-tree picks.
He HAS to take risks if he wants to attain legendary status. The very fact that he is a huge favorite in this fight tells the story. When was the last time anyone worried that a fight of his was even going to be close?
I'm not talking about BIGGER fighters, just the BEST ones from the divisions he has passed through or those willing to fight in his range.
Please continue Floyd. Prove your doubters (and me) wrong and show us the greatness that we ALL know you contain.
BTW, his decisions were about selective business, not cowardess to anyone who is ******ed enough to think that I am implying it.
As long as Floyd remains a businessman he will never become a legend.

^^^ I never said that he was not one of the smartest men in boxing ... Mayweather is a very very intelligent man... I am very impressed with his business decisions ... he made 5 mill against demarcus corley ... and hell ... he was making money fighting nobody's bruseless etc. ... so i honestly cant blame him for that ...

he was able to make the fight with Delahoya bigger than anything ... a great deal of fighters would have posed more of a threat ... SHANE or WINKY... he could have fought the both of them and made less money than he would against fighting Delahoya... problem is ... what do you care more about , money or legacy ??? because obviously ... to gain from both is not likely... well it is ... if you do it accordingly but .. if you make more money fighting people you know you can beat... why take a risk losing against someone that you will make less money ?

I am just upset with the fact that Mayweather thinks that beating Delahoya is a stamp on his legacy... its not at all... he needs 3 more tough close fights in order to be considered among the greatest...

the biggest reason i think mayweather is leaving is because he got ****ted on by the commentator after his fight with baldy ...he felt like no one appreciated him ...so now he wants to leave ??? what a ***** move...he let the writers get to him ...

mayweather is a very insecure indivdual ...

money cannot by him a legacy ... you gotta ****in earn that...

so when mayweather beats delahoya ..and then retires ... fine ... STAY GONE ***** and DO NOT EVER EVER EVER COME BACK ...

if you man up , and fight some more people , then u will get the legacy that you want ... if not , then retire on a bull**** Delahoya win ... but in my opinion , u will always be under Mosley ... until you beat him...

Right lets all finish this quicky so we discuss better things.

                  1) Brussles was a mate of miguel Cotto, Floyd beat him up to try and get Cotto to fight, Cotto dont want none of Floyd, he went to the Gatti fight was so turned on by what he saw, his ******a started leaking, so dont bring that fight up as if it had no purpose, PBF was with Bob Arum so was Cotto, the fight could have happened, Arum didnt want Cotto to lose that early fight never happened.

                  2) PBF left Arum to make a big money fight with De La Hoya on DLH'S terms, how is that ducking or being a *****? how many fighters leave their promoters in search of carrer defining fights?, Not many.

                  3) Mayweather is very insecure, DO YOU KNOW HIM? nope, thats smack talk, dont give me some old wife's tale about how your mate knows mayweather's 23rd cousin and he told you that Mayweather has secret links to South American death squads. lol.

                  4) How many times did floyd call out shane?, Exactly, plenty. He wanted Moesly in Feb and then De La Hoya in March, is that the actions of a *****, nope, what happened?

De la Hoya was a ***** and didnt want Mayweather to fight till May cos he's hoping PBF will get rusty and if Mosley won DLH would lose his shine if he beat PBF. That makes De La Hoya a *****, he's doing everything to take floyd off his game, giving him gloves that'll break his hands, not allowing him to fight for 5 months, yet people on this board lick cream off his crouch. Talk about double standards.

                  5) If mayweather dont have a legacy, who does? friggin Hopkins, please man, 130-154 being an undefeated p4p along the way gives you legacy and if you dont get that then i hope the operation goes well.

                  6) You just wanna see Floyd get beat, thats all, people cant handle the fact he beating these guys with ease, its just talent, as soon as he loses these people will begin to admire him, it was the same with Roy Jones, people have this dum idea to be great in boxing you have to lose, its bull****, to be a great fighter, you gotta beat the great fighters of your time, floyd has beat some of the great fighters of his time, not all of them, but some, thus why he is considered a great.

                  7) If Floyd aint a legend, Hopkins, Calzaghe, Hatton, Winky and some of these others guys who people love on this forum are not, its simple as that. Dont make up new rules for Floyd mayweather but then start telling me how beating Robert Allen or Evans Ashira makes you a legend.

why do people continue to put words in my mouth ??? I never said he was ducking anyone ...

and calazache (sp) and hatton ... are wack ... and i would never call neither one of them legends ...

hopkins is a legend and further cement his legacy when he beats winky ...

                    Hopkins > delahoya, and mayweather

now, mosley had two back to back fights with vargas... at 154 ... so he was supposed to lose weight and drain himself to make 147 ??? and then end up like roy jones against tarver ??? **** no... he was smart ... he had to effectively lose the weight ...and thats what he did ... now that he is at 147 , tell floyd to go talk **** to him now ...

mosley at 147 is stronger than mayweather at 154 , hell even 160... mayweather can weigh whatever he wants and he will still get man handled ...

mayweather called out winky too right ??? but when winky called him on it ... he backed out like a ***** ??? correct ? ? ? ummmm yea.... so obviously mayweather calls people out ... and then does not want to fight ... the only time mayweather was calling people out was after he beat ****ty fighters ... and all he did was state who he wanted to fight after his fight ... he never took any initial action to fight the fighters. ... mosley would have destroyed him then and mosley would destroy him now ...

                    lets see now ,

Floyd is a woman beater ok ??? I am from lansing, mi ... floyd is from grand rapids, mi ... his cousin used to hang out with my ex and i used to **** mayweather's baby momma ... I aint going to blow her name up ... but she is from Walker, Mi ... (suburbs outside of Grandrapids...) ... she's a ho but anyway ... she told me everything about that ***got ... and i used to listen to her and him on 3 way... she would call floyd's phone and then floyds body guard will answer the phone and give the phone to floyd ... and he was just a ***** ... a cry baby ...and brown noser ...

anyway ... but the reason i say he is insecure is not just because of this , but because he is fake ... ... floyd talks about how he grew up poor and **** like that ... and how he did this and did that ... floyd's criminal record consist of nothing but DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASES ! ! ! ! ... he has a record for beating up women ... i think 3 misdeameanor charges ... , floyd was wearing tailor made suits in highschool ??? lol mutha****a how are you poor ? how did you struggle ? .,.. your family has always had money ... he tries to relate to people who actually grew up rough ... mutha****a talks about his father and his mother were not in his life ... but ummmmmm most families are like that anyway ...and floyd has always been a family orientated person ... so anyway ... i do not want to get into this guy's personal life ... because i could give a **** less ...

all im sayin is ... he needs to fight some other fighters before he retires that all ... because going out on a delahoya aint **** ...

mosley could have did what mayweather did ... peep it ...

at 135 mosley was untouchable then ...

lets say mosley went to 140 ... fought corrales ...beat him

then 147 and beat delahoya ...

then 154 and beat vargas ...

then lets just be rediculous and say ... he went to 160 ...and beat hell...cory sphinks ... or no no no ...lets say he went to 160 and beat felix sturm ....

who career does this sound like ??? ... floyd's ... winning belts at different weight classes aint **** , anyone could have did that ...

roy beat ruiz ... but roy would not be able to beat klitcho or sam peter ...

legacy only means you fight the best fights ... and toughest fights ... no one will ****in remember floyd the day after he actually retires ... '

delahoya , shane , winky, hopkins , and possibly taylor will surpass mayweather when legacy is brought up ...

going out on a delahoya win is wack... now if mayweather does not retire and continues to fight ...then he would be better off ...
