Ok, this is a valid point,

Im british an i think Joe Calzaghe is overrated by his own fans

I think he needs to fight better fighters,

I also think he can WIN these big fights,

i would pick Joe over Hopkins right now, I picked Joe to knock out Lacy in 10, and he would be the favorite against Roy Jones at this stage in his carrer.

What he needs to do is drop Frank Warren, go to the US, and even if he loses some of these fights, you know what, he would get so much respect for leaving his own backyard.

I agree that he would get the respect of neutral fight fans, however if he went to the States and lost even to a top class guy, even by robbery, we would still be plagued by the "LMAO Pwend" brigade.

Yeah but it wouldn't matter, cos his resume would speak for itself, anyone with names on their resume like Jones, Hopkins, Toney etc, would be looked on favorably by history no matter what.

I think there is a chance that if this fight happens, that Roy will see Calazaghe's shot coming and be able to avoid the more powerful ones. If he can do this he has a chance to win a decision. Something about the way Joe throws his shots (not the speed, but the delivery) tells me that Roy can see them coming and get out fo the way.

Jones has already been beaten by two lesser fighters than Calzaghe. The only advantage those two have over Calzaghe is perhaps a bit of power, but they're not in Calzaghe's league. These people who say Jones has a chance are the same kind of people who kept saying Tyson had a chance. Fans become delusional sometimes. If Jones ever did beat Calzaghe I'd stand corrected of course, but he would more than likely be beaten bad.

It's not delusion. If anyone thinks Jones that fought Glen Johnson is the same, they are delusional. He obviously improved since then. Tarver is a tall southpaw with amazing power. Joe is not that tall and does not fight like Tarver. The issues are different.

Having said all that, of course I would favor Joe to win the fight. Jones is still good enough to avoid tremendous beatings. Wish i would say more for sure.

How soon do we forget! RJJ badly beaten? come on now. RJJ went 2 yrs without losing a round! granted it wasnt against the best competition. but even some of those guys went on to win titles. Now for people who says he would get beat badly, yall are just dimwits! Real boxing fans know this would be a good fight no matter who ur rooting for. Joe's is a good fighter who really hasnt fought anyone and the same can be said of Jones(except 2 or 3 fighters he fought who were suppoose to give him a challenge). This would be a good fight. but i give the edge to Jones. Too fast too strong. 168 wont be a problem if he has time to properly prepare at that weight. And give Jones credit he says he's willing to go overeas and fight. If it happens then yes he called Joe out and is going to his backyard. Now lets just wait and see what Joe says. F--- Frank Warren. Joe is his own man, and if he wants to fight, then he will fight.

So, RJJ wont accept a 60/40 split and wants fees decided by who wins and who looses?

What a load of ****. Joe should be getting 60 without question.
