Ok its Wales, it was a hometown stoppage was my point. " He would have lost anyway " may as well not even ****ing had the fight he was going to lose regardless. Shoulda stopped Foreman-Ali he was obviously going to lose too. Shoulda stopped Castillo-Corrales too Corrales was obviously gonna lose. This stoppage was bull**** if he was gonna stop him they should have let him. I have nothing against Calzaghe I was extremely impressed in the Lacy fight but that was worthless Calzaghe should have been pissed about that stoppage that wasnt worth goping through training camp.

It's funny because i recall Teddy Atlas saying. "Once Manfredo hits the ropes it's over" Teddy was on point.

Weak stoppage though.. WHat can you do? I don't hate Calzaghe.. I hate the ref.. Calzaghe is a good fighter. Manfredo was ok. Even though he would've gotten KO'ed later on, the ref should have gave him a chance. It was aa world title fight. Bad stoppage for HBO. I hope they file tht refs name and ban him.

that was such a terrible call. there would be 1000x more stoppages in boxing if every ref was like this ****. there was hardly a mark on manfredo's face! granted he was losing, but a ****ing third round stoppage was a terrible call.

this fight gives phony calzone no credibility. this fight might as well have never happend with such a bull**** ending.

I agree with you! Manfredo was not even hurt! Thing is that he should have fought back and trow some shots!

However I couldn't see Manfredo lasting longer then 5 rounds!

I don't think you can hate on Calzaghe for this fight! Calzaghe went in and done what he was expected to do and what he needed to do! Manfredo could've tried a little harder for my money bgecause this was his step up fight. The ref was a complete **** stopping that early, Manfredo at no point was badly hurt and was still moving his head to protect himself but even if it continued Calzaghe would've stopped him shortly after that! Manfredo looked real nervous at times and Calzaghe showed the difference in quality between the two fighters. He was to fast for Manfredo and picked his shots well and never really took a good shot. Manfredo's young and can regroup and mature as a fighter and could come good with some work and as for Calzaghe he needs that superfight with Hopkins, Taylor or Winky!
