It saved Manfredo. Manfredo would of ended up being stopped at the most a few rounds later but in a worse state

that's bull****, i hate it when someone says crap like that, not you, but people in general.

we don't know what would happen, we can speculate but we don't know, joe could've got cut by a punch and lost that way, or walked into a huge shot, anything could've happend.

look at last nights fights on showtime, first fight a guy was down three times in the first round! and losing almost every round and came back in the last round to get the win by KO. wanna know why he got the win because the ref let him keep on fighting until the fight was over, manfredo never got that chance, anything can happen in boxing, anything.

that stoppage just solidifies probably the biggest reason why US champs and fighters don't go to europe because of the one thing that a fighter has no control over, the officiating and judging. that stoppge made european boxing look like a complete scam. a bunch of swindlers.

Like American referees aren't the worst in the world. Ever see Randy Neuman, for example, pretending to referee a fight?

Anyway, this BS is continuous in boxing - ESPECIALLY, but obviously not exclusively - in the USA - incompetant and/or crooked referees and judges and announcers, and in your face gangsters, like King, running the whole racket.

Its called a hometown stoppage, I hate to admit it but it reminded me of Cotto vs Corley stoppage a bit.

thats what i thought, too. but corley was down 2 or 3 times in that fight, but the actual stoppage was bull****. this stoppage was total bull****. sure, joe was easily winning, but cmon, give manfredo a ****ing chance to win.

how that fat ass makes that stoppage but there is no stoppage at any point of the lacy fight is just beyond me.. This is a championship fight. Pete was in with someone better for sure, but you shouldnt stop a fight like that.. People can say this and that was going to happen sooner or later but no one really knows.. and if so. let it happen! Im sure pete rather get knocked out then lose like that.. and chance was stolen from him so quickly.. just brutal...

Even calzaghe said that was a premature stoppage and Barry Mcguigan was livid in his analysis. Im angry with Manfredo for not fighting back but theres no getting away from it that was a terrible stoppage and a bad day for british boxing when a referee like that can take charge of a world title fight. So thanks Frank Warren for another pointless card...**** sake what a waste of a night.

thats how i feel, i woke up to watch this and i feel like i wasted my time.
