Blasted Myaorga with one l left hook huh? as i saw the fight i saw Mayorga eating straight right hand after straight right hand b4 he finally dropped. and they were flush! and no im not faulting him for having bargaining power. but if u still lose( or its a close fight) and u have all the chips stacked in your favor, what does that tell a person about ur skills? Ur already the fam fav, u stipulate the rin size(for ur advantage), glove size and make(for ur advantage), weight(for ur advantage) and u still come up short? Therefore when Tito stipulated that DLH not have all those advantages in their rematch, DLH quit on his stool...lol

I agree. He was something years ago but I can't even remember his last impressive performance against a reasonably good opponent. And all his pay-per-view fights, or almost all of them barring maybe two are busts that are in no way worth paying to see on television.

In the first round he did indeed drop Mayorga with one left hook.

I'll go as far to say, who has he really beaten since '99? JCC(2x),Vargas, Mayorga? Is that it? I dont know why he is considered the "cash cow" of boxing when he hardly ever "WINS" the fight. Also, throw in the Sturm fight(which was a gift) how many fights has he actually won, this century? in a word DLH is overrated---comments, please
I don't understand how many more good fighters you are meant to beat in Seven years. He kicked off the century by beating Derrell Coley who was 34-1 even though he is not a big name. Beat Arturo Gatti. Beat Javier Castillejo. Knocked out Vargas. Knocked out Yory Boy. Beat Sturm and most recently he knocked out Mayorga. Yes, he has had 3/4 of his losses in the new millenium, but just as you say that he was given the Sturm fight, one can just as easily say that he won the Trinidad fight. And the first Mosley fight... and the second Mosley fight. Trinidad fight was an MD, the first Mosley fight was a split desicion (obviously both very close) and I think everyone (even Sugar Shane Mosley) agrees that De La Hoya won the second one. Infact, De La Hoya's only real loss was being unquestionably knocked out. So while it is fine for you to think that he is over-rated, or that he was gifted the Sturm fight, or the Whitaker fight or the Quartey fight or whatever, it is ridiculous to say he is over-rated.

          Ricardo Mayorga
          Fernando Vargas
          Arturo Gatti
          Luis Ramon 'Yory Boy' Campas
          Derrell Colley
          Javier Castillejo

What more is a man meant to do? And this is only within the last 7 years! With the better part of two taken off...

And these are good fighters by whose standards? Mayorga beat Forrest and Six heads Lews. Vargas was gifted against Winky. the other names on there are people who was perfect for DLH. Stand in front and slug it out with him. If those are the only names u can come up with in 7 yrs then that proves my point. Yori Boy Campas---yea right!

No of course not. But when anyone says that they are in fact referring to the first round.

Edit: I never uttered that phrase myself.

i even think that fight was fixed! I have never seen a fighter not even move his head when he is looking at someone punching at him. DLH didnt miss with his right. you would think that after u get hit with the same punch for 4 rds, u would atleast move ur head. the fix was on! the one punch that Mayorga did throw and connect actually rocked DLH for a hot second. then he remembered he was there to lose, so he started looking to run his face into that right hand again

You're silly. Look at the clip of the first-round hook. His head snaps back. If you take a dive you DON'T do it like that. You take a grazer to the temple and go down.
