    De La Hoya overrated!!!

Honestly i think DLH is overrated. Sure he has been in MEGA fights. But howmany has he won? When he has faced competition in their primes--he lost. 2x to Mosely, Trinidad, and Hopkins. I'll go as far to say, who has he really beaten since '99? JCC(2x),Vargas, Mayorga? Is that it? I dont know why he is considered the "cash cow" of boxing when he hardly ever "WINS" the fight. Also, throw in the Sturm fight(which was a gift) how many fights has he actually won, this century? in a word DLH is overrated---comments, please

Oscar was at his best around '94, '95.

Then, he was awesome. Absolutely awesome.

Who did he beat in those yrs that made him awesome? Gabe Ruelas? I dont claim to be a boxing expert or historian, but name someone he beat that u were truly impressed with his performance? Im not knockin DLH, but thats some info i want to know. Even his wins are controversial

i've been saying this for awhile now. sure he was good, very good at times but like you said he came up short (or should of whittaker, quartey, and sturm) in every mega fight.

Exactly!!! Im trrying to think of one time that he impressed me. wait, the time he beat Gatti to death. But who hadnt done that. Thats how Gatti makes his living--by taking an ass whoopin...lol...Like i said, ill give him props for fighting the big fights. but being in the fight isnt good enough. Of course you cant win them all, but damn, can u win atleast 1!

Great marketing and promotion. I mean, Gatti is a big draw and he does nothing but get his ass kicked by average fighters. DLH just loses to elite fighters...

I think you guys need to go back over his career and watch his fights and who he beat at the time he beat them, sure a lot of those names don't mean **** now but back then they did. Sure he has fallen short a few times. But he was beating the **** out of unbeaten fighters in his early twenties. At least he fought the best.

I think we all know why he gets paid so much, if you don't your just ****ing ignorant.

I think the fact that he was competitive with all those great fighters means that he could be trouble for Mayweather(I personally think he will lose but will be rooting for him). He did well against trinidad particularly, and most of us Boxing fans overrate him, thereby overrating Oscar.

Try Gabes brother. Do your research. Who at the time was unbeaten.
