How do you regard Carl Froch?

Lacy would be a perfect fighter to gauge just how good Froch really is as Jeff’s always coming forward applying pressure in fights.

it just seems funny to hear lacy mentioned as a good test for a guy
who hasnt done anything beyond european level, especially in regards
to how most americans view european fighters. so far ive not seen
anyone mention that froch only fights on home turf either etc

I really think Carl Froch will be a force over the nest few years. I am not a big fan of his personality but he can really box. He has definate ko power and a great jab. I wish he would tighten up his defence though, those hands are too low. He would certainly be a much tougher test for Calzaghe than Manfredo but i suspect he'l get his chance in the future. Would like to see a Froch - bute fight because that would be a cracker.

Theres alot of his fights on youtube, very impressive performances. Would be quite an even matchup but neither of their chins have been fully tested. The strength of their chins may be the decider.

I agree Froch-Bute could be a real cracker. I just feel fairly convinced Froch would be the one getting cracked.

Would REALLY like to see that.

IF Froch beats someone like Bute, I'd have to totally reconcider my views on Froch (would absolutely hate that).
Mind you - there aren't many who falls into the "like Bute" category.

I would like to see him Against Vitali Tsypko, Jeff Lacy or Lucien Bute.. Fighting one or more of these guys would be a pretty good indicator of where
he would stand..

He could also try for the uero belt against Gogiya. Not a bad fight either.

Inkin could be another one but it is often difficult if not impossible to get two contenders to fight.

Carl has good potential, but because he hasnt fought anyone we dont know just how good he is. Carl dont know how good he is himself? He is confident he could be great. He talks confidently to hope we believe in him like he believes in himself. And he hopes he can get the big fights to discover if he is as good as he hopes he is.
