How do you regard Carl Froch?

serious discussion only, no flames. Thanks.

For me personally, I can't deny the guy appears to be VERY talented... at least at a level. At this stage in his career he's only fought, at best, fringe European class. Despite that, I'd stake a claim on him being genuine European class when he gets the chance.

But is he world class? I don't know. I suspect he could be... but I really don't know. It'd be nice to see him step in with someone like Robin Reid, Lacy or Kessler just for more of an indication of his standing. The guy certainly knows how to box, but how much that can extend at this stage, I think we simply don't know.

He is top of my P4P list though... P4P (unintentionally) funniest boxers.

    I agree with you entirely.

He may make a big commotion about the likes of Reid ducking him...but he DOES still need to fight guys like Reid and better before he can complain about guys like Calzaghe ducking him (if then).

He's fun to watch but hard to take toooo seriously. There are three huge Froch fans on board here, and with two of them being Welter and Beo, I'd like to give the guy a chance. But to my eyes he doesn't appear world class.

The thing is, despite his technical deficiencies (though he deliberately lets people hit him... weird) he's done everything he said he would... so far.

He said he could take a punch. He can (so far).

He said he'd beat who's put in front of him. He has. (so far).

He said... well, you get the idea...

Totally agree with you Annie, I think he has the tools but not the temperament.

I'd like him to do well but I suspect European level maybe the highest he can reach!

The thing is he's not fought anyone that's world class yet. I think he could make his mark but he wants to step it up soon, otherwise he could stagnate. He's not getting any younger, what is he now, 29?

I think we need to see a few more fights of his against good opposition before we can really tell if he is world class. I think he has the potential, if he doesnt who does?

He's the best super-middleweight in the world right now, and there's so much he hasn't needed to show yet.

Whenever he's needed to open up, he has and he's got them out of there. Every time. From day one.

He lets punches off so effortlessly, and has a lightning long jab from the outside that he won't use unless he needs to (and he'll need to when he steps up against better guys) - it's kind of a flicker jab.

Look, he's never even been hurt in the ring (amateur, pro, gym), let alone down. And I've never seen him tired! He's proved he has the equaliser too. Froch is Serious.

If I was a betting man, my money would be on him if he fought Kessler or Calzaghe. It really would.
