Some of YOUR statements are ridiculous.
Calzaghe is the top guy in the division, so if anyone is going to come to the other it should be Kessler going to Calzaghe. As for fighting in America, Calzaghe has also said previously (quite rightly) that Kessler is not yet a draw. American networks arent hugely interested in him as of this moment. He needs to improve his profile there just like Calzaghe does (nay, moreso) before that fight would get the money it deserve. From the looks of it, thats what he is planning on doing.
Calzaghe just had to KTFO Robert Stieglitz and afterwards deal with Kessler. Then he would have been the best SMW of all time, but no,he drop the IBF-belt
But no - instead you (yes you the hardcorefanbase) gets Bika and now Manfredo. How on earth can you be satisfied with that - and how the **** can you keep holding up arguing that Calzaghe is the best out there with this strategyComment

United States is different in so many different places.

In the US significant differences only begin to make themselves felt every few hundred miles. In England (let alone the UK) the culture of various areas changes every 20 odd miles. If I was to become a professional boxer and fight in a place called Portsmouth (about 17 miles from where I was mostly brought up), I'd be heckled, spat at, etc. They wouldn't be my people. It wouldn't be my hometown. If I was a 32 stone American from Poughkeepsie who decided to become a pro boxer I'd fit right in in Madison Square Garden, I'd have a following. Political Geography is totally different over in Europe. Regional varieties and rivalries are far more entrenched.Comment

The way I see it, the fights go like this:
* Fight back after a lay off
* ****ty promo fight for HBO.
I'm not saying that this is a good series of fights, but... no.
I just don't see the point AT ALL. The Blow is stating that he would be more of a challenge to Hop than Winky. That is all. Who Joe has been lumbered with (and he's blatantly said he can't get motivated for Manfredo) is a side issue.
I just don't get why little kids have to try and make some **** out of something that isn't there, and 99% of the time it's with non-US fighters. Joe is OBVIOUSLY trying to call out US fighters, which is what you guys want him to do anyway. But he's getting shot down for that??
I just don't get why penises have to overreact to fighters calling each other out in the press... that's how the fight game works. What should boxers say "I don't want to fight anyone"???
I understand what your saying, but my point is that given Joe's last 2 fights, hes in no position to talk **** about B-Hop taking a fight with Winky Wright.Comment

You arent the only person who lives in a multi-cultural society mate. Britain is just as diverse.
Believe it or not, very few fans consider him fighting Kessler or not to be a big blip on his career. In fact, that vast majority of fans would rather see him fight the likes of Taylor, Hopkins, Wright etc. Most fans would rather see them on his resume than Kessler. Thats what he is trying to do by fighting Manfredo as I have already explained painfully clearly. At the moment...AT THE MOMENT (note how I state that), Kessler is no more than a fairly credible European opponent who is fairly untested. Calzaghe has plenty of them on his resume. If he fought Kessler and easily defeated him, this board is not the only place where the majority of posters would be saying that he took another easy fight against an untested European instead of making the career defining fights. So Kessler needs to step up a few times and prove thats not all he is.
We arent satisfied with that (not that I'm a hardcore Calzaghe fan to the point where I'm blind about his shortcomings...can you say the same about Kessler? And with less reason I'd wager) we want him to fight the big fights and are satisfied that he's trying to put himself in a position to do that. What you need to realise is that Kessler is not one of the big fights at this point in time. He may be, if he beats a few proven fighters, but he isnt yet. Kessler should be looking to take on the likes of Lacy and Froch before he can call out the guy who is currently easily considered in all quarters to be the dominant fighter in that division.
You can see the simple logic to all this, right?
Your wrong.
He was offered a huge fight with Kessler in MSG.
People have been screaming for this massive supermiddleweight matchup.Comment

the thing is, the USA has no 1 fighter they get behind and is universally popular, for every 1 fighter who is incredibly huge, he is also incredibly hated, how many of your best champions can you say have very little support around the country, as opposed to america where you can be hated by more than half the country while being a great championComment
