He wont retire after the fight. He'll proly approximate SRL's # of retirements. maybe half of it.

yes he will retire after the fight if not then he will fight and beat sugar shane then quit , fact is he was planning on quitting 5 years ago when he told claude abrams he couldnt take the pain anymore with his hands

and after damaging them agian vs judah and baldy he might have had enough with the pain and then the criticism which inevitably follows floyd mayweather jr

so no oscar wont be his last fight shane mosley will

No he wont retire and he shouldnt retire.
And if he truly wants to be great, what excuse has he got for not boxing on londer. If he doesnt box on he would be another in a long line of very good boxers to come and go. Its like a production line and theres plenty of PBFs down the line waiting in the wings, the sport of boxing always produces them. SRL and then RJJ won titles in 5 different weights, but fought better boxers. PBF has to do something that will stand out. And its within his grasp - but he has to want it badly. True greatness cant be and wont be given to you on a platter. You have to go out and get it yourself and not allow your critics to make excuses for you not being great.
If PBF doesnt clean up these kinda guys, PBF certainly will be giving ammunition for his critics to deny him true greatness.

I think he will, but come back soon. With other fighters claiming to be the best out there, and calling PBF a *****, his massivly swollen ego will force him back for another mega money fight.

He desperatly wants to be the next Sugar Ray Leonard. Leonard was a worldwide celebrity, Floyd craves that kind of admiration and fame.

I think he will retire first, which will last less than a year... will wait for some big name to call him out of retirement and then come back.

This is how the money is made... He is simply following Oscar's footprints!

Problem is.. a fight with DLH generates 20 Mil... and no one will be getting that for facing Mayweather..
Besides, who would want to be embarrassed by Mayweather (notice I said "embarrassed by Mayweather" and not "fight Mayweather", because Mayweather does not fight)

I wish boxers would stop saying they are retiring. What PBF really means he wants a breather and a bit of a career break. That is understandable of him. But then pbf said he is retiring in America and not in England so he can still box Hatton. So confusing and frustrating. Just say you want a career break

Floyd can't retire, unless he no longer loves the sport.

If he beats DLH,Hatton,Cotto, and Mosely, he could be the greatest P4P of all time.

excellent post..at least you seem to know what's going on. Floyd will retire after hoya and the only way he comes out of retirrement is if mosley beats cotto and cintron and grabs the other two belts. but right now floyd is only fighting one more fight. HBO didn't appreciate him, waiting until he was 28 to put him on ppv. Now that his hands are all busted up they want him to keep fighting. Floyd is doing the right thing and retiring. if he grabs Oscar's belt at 154 he would have done what no other fighter in history has done at his age..and that's win five titles in five weight classes UNDEFEATED
