Those fights are not adequate to compare. Toney doesn't blow fights that badly when pressured. He fights back. Hopkins did not fight back enough to get a clear decision.
I compare those two with being able to judge CLEAN...EFFECTIVE punches as opposed to punches that are grazing or that miss completely.

Those rounds I speak of in the B-Hop Taylor fight are the 3rd and 5th rounds of their FIRST fight. Both of those rounds were clear B-Hop rounds in my opinion.

Jirov's punches were landing much more solidly than Taylor's. Taylor landed partial blows at a higher rate than Jirov, and his lack of activity did not make up for it.

I will have to rewatch those rounds. Hops fought like a ***** that night.

With that card....you would have had Jirov winning 7-4-1 or something like that, which is just ridiculous. I'm hammered out of my gourd right now, but there is no way that fight was even heading into the last round. I had it 6-4-1 Toney heading into the final round....or 6-5 if you don't believe in even rounds.
Like I've stated, and I'm not questioning your damn boxing knowledge.

You were sick and watch the fight again Sheriff. Toney adjusts his trunks a little bit more that he usually does and he had a strange look on his face while laying on the ropes.

Toney is the last person that would tell you he farted in front of Females. No ****ing way. You could offer him all the money in the world and he'd just use the old "You smelt it, you delt it" adage.

His ass was hurting from the chopping punches holmes slice.

Maybe...but he won those rounds in my opinion. I'm not the only one that thought Hopkins retained his titles either.

In those rounds he lands cleaner, harder punches...while Taylor lands NOTHING significant and misses a lot.

I think their first fight was the only fight that I have ever seen a fighter win without EVER landing one significant CLEAN HARD punch. Can you think of any others?

Just because I was young when the fight took place doesnt mean I havent read articles and press releases regarding the fight.
I also own the fight and watch it on a regular basis because of the sheer domination of such a skilled fighter.

It's hard to make a case for Bhop. He hardly landed ****. Landing clean punches is well and good if you are landing more than 5 a round. One guy showed a passion to fight, the other, more skilled fighter seemed content to leave it up to the judges based on snail-like activity. One man's superior activity canmake up for lack of cleanliness if the other fighter is hardly trying.

It was a dreadful fight and both man failed to step up.

Hmmm...well I suppose I'm not the master of his mannerisms...but I have seen pretty much every major fight he has been in and I have NEVER seen him look visibly hurt in a fight. He has confessed to hurting from punches by way of Sosa and Barkley though. I guess I have been wrong on those. But still he has never been hurt badly enough to the point of being stopped or even in trouble.

Jirov sends him back with a bodyshot, he stumbles on what is said to be a "slippery part of the ring" and then he adjusts his trunks. I dunno...maybe he was buzzed but I don't think Jirov ever buckled him or stopped him from taking what was his.

You say that Toney was 100% during the Jones fight!

When I score fights I usually favor the boxer and counterpuncher, but I scored both Hopkins Taylor fights in favor of Taylor.
Hopkins literally gave the first fight away, I have never seen someone so inactive.
Taylor won the rounds becuase Hopkins did absolutly nothing. (Im talking about the first 7 or so rounds)
It was strange, becuase had Hopkins flurried two or 3 times in a few of the rounds he would have taken the fight. There was little action, and I was suprised and dissapointed in Hopkin's preformance. The fights were his to win, and he just didnt take the initiative.

I agree to a point, but when both fighters land 5-6 punches and then champion lands the slightly better shots, shouldn't the round go to the champion instead of the media guy who is trying to be groomed?
