JMM didn't have any trouble with Jaca, he wanted to brawl the kid and he was winning the fight by a country mile on my scorecard. It's just that Jaca took a good punch.

jmm is moving up to 130...he may be fighting barrera or guzman next.

Jmm had difficulty with this kid weather you like it or not...even if he was hitting him he couldnt take the kid out early.

I like jmm's old style his counter puncher was awesome to watch if he brawls like this against pacman he will be hurt.

Well, what do ya think? He fought great, Jaca surprised me but didn't really impress me except for the fact that he has a great chin and he decided to stand toe to toe. Marquez throws some of the most beautiful combinations (including the one which caused the KO) I have seen, they are very clean and they come with a lot of power. He gave props to both Pacman and Jaca after the fight calling both of them great fighters, and he raised Jacas hand when they were declaring him the winner. Very classy IMO. I think most of the pinoys and all those who were on his ass after the Chris John fight should give him props for fighting the way he did and for what he had to say after the fight. I know I gained a lot of respect for him after this fight.

I have always had great respect for Marquez. He has been one of the best fighters in the world and it is too bad he has not been able to draw the fans. Part of the problem has been the mismanagement of his career. However, it seems to me Marquez is past prime and should be considering retirement. I hope he can get a big money fight next year, because old age is catching up to him.

Marquez hasn't lost a fight since 99 besides his robbery from John ands he has won by KO in his last two fights. His counter punch style will let him stay a top fighter for at least a few years.

JMM again showed he's a top-tier guy in the fight game, no doubt.

Trouble is he got tagged 139 times, about 25% of them were power shots. Sure JMM showed good chine, once again, but the story would be very different if he's getting smacked by Pac by 35 power shots.

As much as I'd love to see JMM and Barrera go at it, I don't want to see JMM go to war for 12 rounds with Barrera, before meeting Pac. Let's hope Pac can make that early-2007 date happen.
