New Found Respect for Marquez?

Well, what do ya think? He fought great, Jaca surprised me but didn't really impress me except for the fact that he has a great chin and he decided to stand toe to toe. Marquez throws some of the most beautiful combinations (including the one which caused the KO) I have seen, they are very clean and they come with a lot of power. He gave props to both Pacman and Jaca after the fight calling both of them great fighters, and he raised Jacas hand when they were declaring him the winner. Very classy IMO. I think most of the pinoys and all those who were on his ass after the Chris John fight should give him props for fighting the way he did and for what he had to say after the fight. I know I gained a lot of respect for him after this fight.

i give him respect for finishing the fight and toughing it out for the KO, but right now the only thing hes doing technically good is throwing punches, and thats it, hes gettin stuck.

yea marquez is a great fighjter beatiful combinations, he is really undeafeated, most people who know what there looking at like max kellerman bealive he beat pac after spottiing him a huge lead

I would like to see him follow up some more with his punches...but what can I ask from a counter puncher? theres been times when it looks like Jaca is in deep trouble yet JMM doesn't follow up. Give Jaca credit though for standing toe to toe...though the KO seems weird.

Yeah no doubt, I found myself yelling at the tv when marq would stop and back off after a good combination. I give Jaca mad credit for standing toe to toe with him, he has one hell of a chin but I don't think he'll become anything great like pacman who i thought he was trying to be in this fight and we saw what happened.

i think tonight he has beautiful technique when throwing punches, i think he sets up well etc, but defensively, hes regressed.

I knew JMM would beat Jaca. Too much power and too much experience.

Barrera is lucky no one is calling him out to fight JMM.
