The city proper was largely integrated from most of it's inception until the 30s when they segregated the people into white, brown, and black districts. We were never part of that, and anyone north of us could live anywhere in our neighborhoods.

Subsidized housing for black folks in what became the projects was a step up until it wasn't because they were segregating the poor black folk from the middle class/well to do black folk.

U cite federal school stats to make illicit CRT points without citing any regulations to prove your point. Never heared of subsidized suburbs, but what municipalities and States do is offer businesses tax incentives to relocate that sparks housing booms that are strictly developer generated, though today the local govt offers subsidies to build the new projects for affordable housing, ie mass scale apartment units where "affordable" units are built with "regular" units.

I suggest you drop CRT here. I don't like to see threads locked.

Boxing has traditionally existed one on one white vs black vs brown vs ***, vs Catholic, vs Protestant vs big vs small and so on, and sadly sometimes outside politics interfere in matchs as we have discussed ad infinitum.
What you've posted, once again, has nothing to do with CRT. I don't think you know what CRT is, so you should stop mentioning it until you inform yourself.

Second....you haven't heard of subsidized suburbs? Well now you have.

How the Federal Government Built White Suburbia

Federal housing policies didn’t just deny opportunities to black residents. They subsidized and safeguarded whites-only neighborhoods.

Third, there is an entire history of redlining in Austin that WAS racial and that you apparently don't know anything about I guess.

How's that for "citing regulations to prove my point." Read up, "son."

I'm ready to end this conversation whenever you are ready to admit you don't know what you are talking about. Perhaps your part of Austin you are right about since you live there...? Questionable to me, but since you live there I won't go as far as to say you are either lying or off, but the proof that Austin also had redlining based on race is right there in your face.

He opens the narrative by arguing that post civil war Galveston TX was oddly enough not a segregated society, arguing that the island was populated by poor white and blacks living in mixed neighborhoods.

That Johnson ran with a gang of young boys that was racially mixed.

If this is true it would go a long way to explaining why Johnson didn't carry the inferiority complex that held back so many black men back during those days.

Yes it's true, though the Grandson of ****** as a child Jack didn't really experience the humiliations and constraints others did in various parts of the US. Galveston in Johnson's childhood was relatively relaxed about racial issues, just as long as adult Blacks did not overstep the mark.
Johnson when he grew to manhood recognized no parameters whereas his fellow contemporary black fighters such as Jeannette, McVey, and Langford, toed the line.Jeannette had a mixed race marriage but received no opprobrium from Whites because he was considered a good ,you know the word, who knew his place.
Langford , that wonderful fighting machine ,was obsequious towards Whites, [ today Blacks would probably unfairly see him as an Uncle Tom ,] and not comfortable in their society.

I read up on the subjects Im interested in and reading about Johnson, I came across that information, ditto Langford and Co.

You contribute nothing to any boxing subject posted here, you're just a sad, disgruntled little man who hates everything and everyone.

          - - There was hope once Dempsey/Wills died a natural death as it did in their day, that you had matured and could move on from your hysteria, but there you go again, discovering "not exactly as I relayed it due to the sudden reemergence of your hysteria, but enough to prove exactly what I said."

And Federal loans to contractors and homebuyers is not subsidies because the loan has to be paid off with interest, and plenty black men used the GI bill for education and housing as my pop did.

And again, you have yet to explain CRT as a theory. I-35 replaced East avenue much like my ancestral neighborhood was cut off by eminent domain of Houston Freeways, but of course we weren't really cut off in that we could still drive, bike, or walk though the "The Divide" which is just a CRT dog whistle for making up racism where is doesn't exist.

Is the color spectrum which reflect the lights of the different colors racist for not including black that does not reflect light but rather the absence of light?

And guess who claiming the color spectrum these days?

            Apparently you can't read.

Honestly, I think you are just a lonely old man. You just want to involve yourself in every conversation even when you obviously don't know shlt about it.

            Take another one.

Tell me how many times you see the word "subsidizied," idiot.

1930s-1940s: Federal housing programs spur suburb growth
Beginning in the 1930s and 1940s, the federal government created programs that subsidized low-cost loans, opening up home ownership to millions of average Americans for the first time. At the same time, government underwriters introduced a national appraisal system, tying property value and loan eligibility to race. Consequently, all-white communities received the highest ratings and benefited from low-cost, government-backed loans, while minority and mixed neighborhoods received the lowest ratings and were denied these loans. Of the $120 billion worth of new housing subsidized by the government between 1934 and 1962, less than 2 percent went to nonwhite families. Nonwhites were locked out of home ownership just as most white Americans were finally getting in.

Just shut the fuvvck up already. We all know that you don't know shlt. You were even ****** enough to expose where you live so that I can prove that it was no different there than anywhere else in America. Austin had a "negro town"?????

You lose again, Queenie. Go read a fvvcking book.

I am perpetually confused by the snippets we get regarding the color line. In a more general sense of race relations it does not make much sense. Education, fairness... it seems these usual ******* sentiments are thrown to the proverbial wolves.

So in general the Irish and many Blacks lived together and coexisted together in relative harmony in Urban environments like the Five Points Hood in NYC. it is said that the "Jig" was a combination of African and Celtic dance moves... The Irish and Blacks had a similar sentiment regarding the Civil War... Both faced relatively similar types of discrimination at least primea facea for the time.

And we have London who wrote socialist tomes, decried the treatment of the working man... even spoke of animal rights... who then said such ghastly racist things about Johnson... What was going on? Is this really cultural blindness?

When we talk of the fighters I do think we have to be careful about making assumptions. For example, Tunney was a great fighter, whatever his motivations, it is hard to imagine him fearing another fighter. We do know that some individuals have said Tunney was a bit of a "prig," a snob of sorts... We also know London had an inferiority complex, given his semi-autobiography (Martin Eden). Both men were social climbers, and had to accept that high society ala Gatsby Ole Chap, was still reified in America.

Dempsey did not appear to have the same motivation to climb the social ladder. Dempsey was always very up front about how he came up. He was unpretentious enough that in his restaurant he would greet people, vis a vis he was accessible.

Sullivan to me is the wild card... Here is the quinessential Irish stereotype. A man who longed for the comfort of a pub, and who would speak freely. So did he have a deep abiding point of view regarding race relations? Or did he speak of these relations casually and with capriciousness?

Sullivan at times seems to indicate that his rules are simple: you settle it out back, come back into the proverbial pub and become fast friends... At other times he does maintain a color line when in conversation... so who knows lol.

Part of the problem was back then people believed in substantial differences between the races. There was no knowledge of genetics, or physical characteristics versus the isolation and development of a group for many generations. Racial chauvanism was one product of this understanding. Trying to put your race in the running so to speak...
Take a good look a the churls who are claiming Tunney was afraid. I already knew these two were complete halfwits. Where you been anyway? You must have lost touch with the forum. No, those two are churl wipe thoroughbreds. I guess you didn't know.

                Who said Tunney was afraid?

Aren't you the same halfwit that went on a racist rant about Black people because an idiotic poster said Black people should kill as many White people as possible, not knowing that the poster who said it was Asian?

Yea. You are truly a halfwit. And a racist one at that.

He will just keep deflecting, ducking and squirming all day. Notice how he hijacked the topic to turn it into yet another CRT thread and pull the same attrition tactics as Ivich…you post facts, he ignore them, then he responds by repeating himself, insulting you, and runs the discussion in circles. He does it on every thread, every topic. He’s insane, and he is obsessed with race. You may as well argue with a door knob.

Here you go again. Why don't you show it to everyone so they can judge for themselves. As if I would care what anyone thinks of me. And I guess you are not bright enough to find your own derisory terms. Go ahead. Copy me then. Before I know it you will be referring to people you excoriate as "registered, thoroughbred churls." Copy me, bun boy. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness, as the gay poet said.

I laugh at what you call me, because... heck.. it is only you, bun boy. I accept your flattery. If I knew I was a racist, it would still not bother me, since I would already be one. Does your reverse racism occur to you at all, boy?

If you get the least bit creative we will reevaluate. But we will not revise the fact that you obviously start threads and join threads to facilitate discussions about racism. Isn't there another section for your regurgitated parroting? Your offal will even make it into threads that have nothing to do with race, because you cannot help yourself. (Offal, now that is a nice word. You might want to use it. If you do, I will teach you another one). YOU ARE A REVERSE RACIST AND A STIRRER, PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Just admit you hate anyone that will not take up your opinions. You hate your perceived political enemies with a fine passion that cannot hide itself. The real hater is you, the accuser. I live with seven blacks. Spread 'em, son.

Remember, call me a racist and I am unaffected. If I were a racist, I doubt I would trust seven blacks in my house. I think you are tainted heavily, son, by reverse racism. Is that your toy, bun boy?

You know what you did you dumb bltch. You aren't fooling anyone. The website deleted it, as they always do. and your dumb ass took a ban.

We also all remember when you were saying racist shlt about latino fighters. You can deny it all you want but we know exactly who you are. That you have the nerve to deny it shows that not only are you a racist, but you are a coward.

I've never been banned here for racism. But we all know you have. When all of you racist die off, the world will be a better place. In other words, suk a dlck and die. Thanks.
