I enjoy Oueensbury's provocative posts. But I'm also a bit bewildered - why this hatred to Fit Lar?

Holmes wasn't good looking enough to become a super star in America - He wasn't pretty like a girl (Ali); he wasn't t built like a tank (Tyson)

12 year old boys didn't want to grow up to be like him and 19 year old women didn't want to f**k him.

Even if he had beat Spinks and gone 49-0 it wouldn't have gotten him there.

No doubt unfair but that's the rules in the American visually driven culture.

It takes a boxing fan to embrace Holmes; the general populace was not going to gel to him.

No good looks, no joyful personality (Neon Leon); they say Don King use to berate him for his appearance in the ring.

              - -Hatred???

Luv me some mo'Lar who still has an undefeated record of always being the grumpiest curmudgeon in the room...

This case study starts as follows to it's logical monkey shines conclusion:

Was scheduled to face George Foreman at the Houston Astrodome on January 23, 1999. Foreman was to make $10 million and Holmes $4 million. After they signed the contracts, each boxer received 10 percent of his purse as a nonrefundable deposit. Foreman withdrew from the fight on January 1 because the promoter, Roger Levitt, failed to meet the deadline to pay Foreman the remaining $9 million of his $10 million purse. The fight ran into trouble when one of its major backers pulled out. "They were supposed to have the money last week and they didn't have it," said Roy Foreman, George's brother. "George gave them an extra week and they still didn't have it."

George already well into his announced retirement was 2 years inactive, but willing to commence training for $10 mil. Alls well that ends well in George World. Not so in tubby Lar world who with 2 yrs inactive managed to call out Butterbean with a viscous tirade who in turn bullied and mocked Lar before knocking him down in his last moment in boxing...luv me some mo' Lar...whoooohoooohoooo

                      - -U imagining U buds Ginsberg and Kerouac on a clear day where U can see U forever overripened.

As mentioned, though the same birth year, when active Lar was never remotely near the same hiearchy as Big George, the reason poor Lar has projected a lifetime of insecurity on to Big George, blaming him for halitosis, piles, impotency, and bad hair. Pray do tell us again what Ginsberg and Kerouac tell U jelly about all of that.
