I’ve followed boxing closely since 1970. Watched all the top hwts from the 70’s live and in person as well as attended the Ali-Norton third bout in 76. You have a very skewed understanding of boxing history.

Also remember you are the uneducated one. My accomplishments both in terms of education and economics would dwarf the vast majority. Based upon your posts you would be in that majority.
You know, having a great education and being a success? Those attributes should show in your posts. If you have to point them out... well thats kind of pathetic. What you are is a snob. I actually agree with you on Ali and disagree with Ghost on this issue, but the way you present yourself is repugnant.

Ali by his very nature is a contraversal figure. I don't know if there was a fix with Liston, the most recent book written about Liston suggests there might have been...I don't pretend to know. The opinion you hold is not a more enlightened opinion than the one Ghost holds... There is good proof for both possibilities frankly.

One question: You said you were an "Ali hater" when discussing the Norton decision(s)... were you one of the many @33holes who wanted Ali's scalp for not wanting to fight in Vietnam? If so are you feeling guilty or something? lol. Cosell was one of the few people to have Ali's back... something Ali never forgot.

But you need to do some research about what it was like to get in the ring with Ali...heres a hint, he was the nicest sweetest guy for most of the rounds but would always pick a spot and show you a just a taste of what he could do...and it was terrifying to the likes of men like Jim Kelly, who was fast as lightening and had a wingspan... Terrifying.

It was like getting hit with a toilet brush but your legs were gone, you were frozen, and your brain was going "what the fvk?
--- I suggest you read for content.

Then you'll see at age 29, I'd beat him after his full training camp in a 10k.

As for boxing, as I stated a much smaller guy gave him some good sparring. I never stated I could ever beat him at his speciality.

Bottomline, Ali was prime at age 29 against Frazier, not the washerwoman his fans maintain, a complete sacrilege of logic!

I know what I’m talking about. Just because a book is written that expresses a opinion in an effort to sell books does not mean you should believe its content!

Both Liston bouts were investigated at that time and no evidence was found they were faked/dives. None. Zero. Zip.

I applauded Ali’s stance regarding Vietnam. I despised at the time his bombast.

Anyone can spot an Ali hater. As soon as you hear he actually lost multiple fights is all you need to hear. If the fight was close...he lost it. Garbage. As just one example his second bout with Chavalo was a one sided affair. His bout with Norton at Yankee stadium was scored on prime time tv by a panel of boxers, trainers, historians and writers. The tabulation of their scores reveal a draw. So a very close bout.

As the years go by nut jobs like you see on here become easy to spot...when you know the true history.

          Guys, don't take Houdini seriously!
The guy is sadly a fantasist and was both laughed off and booted twice from another boxing website for lying about both his involvement in boxing and visiting Deer Lake.
He cannot even use the quote function!
You encounter these Walter Mitty types in life and he is one of them.

I called that (the bolded)... so because you had a stick up your proverbial bum anyone who feels differntly about Ali is beneath you? right? You still have the bombast and heres a clue: You don't know as much as you think you do my friend. Want to compare stats? Try Graduate work at University of Toronto, a Master's Degree, scholarship student, professional writer, should I go on?

With all those honors? There are guys here with a 4th grade education who put me to shame regarding boxing and the history of the game. Point is nobody is beneath me, you, or anyone, but if you want to throw credentials around.... Oh and succesful owner of a REal Estate company with based in 3 states, should I go on? Does not make me any smarter...

Lets talk about Dempsey for a moment and his friend who also posts here and seems to know him Lomeuix (sorry about the spelling)... Both guys have more boxing knowledge than I have by a country mile. They both have been in boxing... They have the right to any opinion, whether one agrees, or not.

I also spent time in a Buddhist Monastery and they talked about something called the "stink of enlightenment." People who walk around like they are sooo spiritual and enlightened. Thats what you do. The head Abbot in the monastery was recognizable, he was the first guy out working on the grounds in the morning. meanwhile we would get HOudini's up there for the weekends, actors from New York for workshops in Zen practices. They all had the nice new gear, and were self proclaimed experts....

Thats the "stink" you have Houdini and as people have said genius LEARN TO USE THE PROPER FUNCTION TO QUOTE POSTS!!!! Ohh wait you are special, I forgot!!!!

edit one more thing: I don't know what honors you claim but your comment about books is akine to some idiot going to a restaurant and when asking for a great bottle of wine, telling the waiter "this is old!!" get me a newer one. Books are the way ideas are communicated in a field of study genius. It is how people who research a subject put info out genius. So I doubt you have the education you claim. Ill go get the Zinfindel from the seller sir!!!and put this Chateu Rothschild away!!!!

For a writer your writing skills suck.

I have bachelor degrees in accounting and chemistry along with an MBA. Multiple patents in my area of expertise. I am also a millionaire. Not only have I traveled to every state in the union I’ve traveled all over the world. So your credentials don’t faze me. I am your superior.

Alternative opinions I have no issue with. Opinions not based on fact or opinions based upon partial truth and prejudice I have serious issues with. As should everyone.

If you want to believe Ali in reality lost to George Chuvalo or both his bouts with Liston were fake/fixed it’s fine with me. It’s not factual and your living in a fantasy land but if that’s you “thing” that’s fine. Just don’t go spewing it anywhere as fact and expect me to not take exception to it.
