Do you really honestly believe that James Toney lived up to that description?

I say yes, for his era. He is generally highly regarded and fondly remembered by most.

He's a legend of his era? Never heard of a "Legend of an era" and what does it take to be a legend of their era considering there is no way in hell he's Top 5 of his era. Is he even top 10? Probably not off the top of my head. Depends what you consider an era.

90-2010 he is not Top 10. So, that is a legend? Ok well there's a **** load of legends then.

I know you hate the guy so there's no point arguing with you about it.

Let's just say that is my opinion only. So you don't get so upset.

Stop with the PMS "hate" **** and just answer the question.

Is he Top 10 from 90-2010?

I'm not going to get ****** into an argument with you over this.

I think it should be enough to point out that several outlets address him as a legend, which if nothing else shows that the opinion exists and is out there. Even if you don't share it or think it's misguided.

"This past Saturday, 46-year-old boxing legend James ‘Lights Out’ Toney lost a 10-round decision to journeyman Charles Ellis in St. Charles, Missouri."

"The immortal boxing legend and former 3-weight world champion, James Toney caught up with Boxing News and cast his opinions on the current state of the sport he once thrived in."

"A multiple division champion and future Hall of Famer, James Toney is known for his legendary “old-school” style, consisting of his shoulder roll (used to avoid punches), his ability to fight off the ropes, his slick body movements, and his infighting."

You won't get ****** into an argument on a DISCUSSION BOARD.

Ok great I'll note that down that to be a legend all you have to do is be referred to one in some articles.

Shall we mark down Joe Calzaghe as a legend too? The list must be pretty big.

If Toney is a legend of boxing then how many legends of boxing do you think there is? 100? 200?

I like you as a poster and know how passionate you get when it comes to Toney's resume. Just don't feel like getting into a long back and forth about it, it's not that important.

I think I remember that game. Wasn't Rocky Marciano the last guy you had to beat? I remember renting that and it taking all weekend to beat, was a pain in the ass because it tried to be more realistic with having your character getting punched out and having to wait to regain punching power. It always seemed to happen when you were on the verge of knocking down your opponent.

Toney had a lot of potential, but didn't seem to live up to it. Other than beating Nunn to become lineal middleweight champ and the Barkley win to get a piece of the super middle belt, did he really do that much more. I don't really see him ranked on any middle or super middle all time lists.
