  • Is James Toney the Shaq of Boxing?

so i see a lot of people hyping up toney for being one of, if not, the most talented boxer when he was young/in his prime

but we all know that toney loved his burger king and didnt have as great of a career as people would hope. defs not goat status

vs shaq, dominant in his prime. difference is that shaq got a few champ rings but still his work ethic wasnt crazy like kobe, and a lot say his career could have been goat-worthy if he had trained harder.

i also just found out that toney and shaq are first cousins..

maybe its something in their blood to be talented as fk, but also lazy as fk

    wats ur guys thoughts?

Huh, never knew they were cousins. I can kind of see the resemblance if you take away the size difference.

Fair to say Toney won few titles of his own at 160, 168, and cruiser IIRC. Shaq was more physically dominant then anybody I have seen in my lifetime, james got by on incredible skills.

I have it on good authority that Shaq's midget girlfriend cannot even take the full monty, as in glans, baby. There is a man who will graze at Burger King and Papa John's for long periods. He was going to do it anyway, though, if he is a cousin of Toney's, even a distant one, not just a first cousin. People related to Toney only by marriage go off the deep end into full bore gluttony all the time at the drop of a doughnut.

Was Shaq O'Neil a great basketball player?

If so then I would say no they aren't comparable.

Toney was so hyped up during his prime that he was thrown in with all-time greats in an early EA Sports video game. He was literally the only current era boxer in the game.

He was in Boxing Legends of the Ring for the Super Nintendo.

Great game, one of my favorite boxing ones to this day. Along with Mike Tyson's Punchout.

              Check out the lineup:

              "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler
              Jake "The Raging Bull" LaMotta
              Sugar Ray Robinson
              Rocky Graziano
              Roberto "Hands of Stone" Duran
              Thomas "Hit Man" Hearns
              Sugar Ray Leonard
              James "Lights Out" Toney

Yes, that was it. And Toney seemed so out of place with the other guys, and they advertised him as a "future legend"

He lived up to that a little, didn't he?

I thought that was a cool thing to do. The makers of the game tried to tie in some legends of the sport with a current (at the time) boxing star to appeal to the younger generation
