Marciano was good at what he did. But as another poster mentioned...that slow, pawing jab while stalking to get inside tactic wouldn't cut it against Wlad. There's too much difference in reach and Rocky didn't move his feet quick enough to effectively close that distance.

I lean towards the old fighters usually being better than the modern ones but you have to examine each matchup on a case by case basis. In this case I have to pick Klitschko. Marciano would keep coming, sprinkling in his awkward lunges as he got more and more desperate. But he'd be torn to bits and eventually stopped in my opinion.

At first, second and third glance this would be a mismatch, because it is. The only way Marciano wins is if Wlad gets DQed for excessive frontal dry humping. There are no other realistic scenarios.

Marciano on the floor several times like Povetkin was and some of them would be genuine kd's.

I very much doubt Rocky could hit harder than Wlad and his chin was never tested against a class Super Heavy .

Wlad beats Rocky up which would be no detriment towards Rocky its just the laws of physics and their respective plusses and negatives.
I'd give Dempsey a chance against Wlad because of his quickness , longer reach compared to Rocky, and his tougher skin.

But ,unless Wlad has a melt down this can only end ugly for Marciano

But now I'm thinking Rocky could catch that chin and get a stoppage at some point. I mean, if a journeyman like Ross Purrity can do it, then Rocky could probably pull it off.
