Round 1: both men comes out. dempsey is in hiscroutch, pressing the fight, and johnson is moving and bouncing around a little. dempsey lunges, but johnson is there to tie him up. dempsey is strong, but johnson has that little extra strength to tie dempsey up in the clinches, but he can only do it for a little while, cause dempsey knows how to free himself and pound the body, which he does. johnson manages to get away and they cotinue. johnson jabs and waits for dempsey's lunges. dempsey corners johnson occasionally and work the head and body, and johnson counter punches when he can. the round is about even: dempsey and johnson are both fresh and ready as their trainer work them over.

Round 2: Johnson lunges in with a hard right that dempsey takes. dempsey then croutches low and lunges and lunges, but johnson is fast and can anticipate what dempsey is doing. johnson is now looking better counterpunching and tying dempsey up when they get into a clinch. dempsey however does not get frustrated, but he just sticks to his game plan. johnson is landing his straight right well, and dempsey takes them. johnson looks fast and skillful, but dempsey keeps on coming. dempsey lunges with a right misses that, and then a fast left hook that drops johnson! johnson is up at 5, and the bell rings, but the round still belongs to johnson: Blanken tells johnson to watch out for his left hook more, and Hayes says to keep pressing the fight and to not get discouraged.

Round 3: johnson comes out and anticipates dempsey's moves. dempsey moves in and manages to get throught johnson's defense and lands some good bodyshots that johnson takes. johnson is moving well and avoiding most of dempsey's blows. dempsey still is pressing the fight, and johnson is countering well and fighting a smart fight. dempsey is closing the gap however and lands crisp left hooks to the body while johnson is against the ropes as the round ends: Dempsey seems ready for action and johnson is a bit shaken up.

Round 4: Dempsey comes out and throws wild shots that all miss as johnson's defense carries him throught. dempsey however pushes johnson in a clinch and lands a right hand and johnson is hurt. dempsey follows up with a lefthook and a right cross and johnson is finished!

Michael Buffer: The winner by a knockout at 1:23 of the fourth round, Jaaack Deeempseey!

Well, there you have it folks. Once again the final score is dempsey ko4.

    Goodnight!

Welcome to The Houston Astrodome, where Muhammad Ali will try to eliminate George Foreman. Ali is a 5 to 1 favorite. Here's Ali being interviewed by one of our reporters.

Reporter: Well Muhammad, any predictions or poems you would like to voice?

Ali: No, not today. This is no time for talking. This is serious. This is about advancing. I'm ready to move on. I'm in fine shape, 204, the same weight I was when I fought Archie Moore. This is business as usual for me. If I win this tournament, then I will definetely be without a doubt, "The Greatest!"

That was a bold statement. Here is the tale of the tape.

                Muhammad Ali

                age: 25
                height: 6'-3"
                weight: 204
                reach: 83"
                record: 29-0-0 (23ko)

                George Foreman

                age: 24
                height: 6'-4"
                weight: 223
                reach: 81"
                record: 38-0-0 (35ko)

And now George foreman is walking down the aisle. Foreman is wearing a dark blue robe. He climbs in the ring and a few cheers could be heard. He now bounces around and shadowboxes.

Now Muhammad Ali is now bouncing to the ring center. Ali is wearing a black robe and the crowd goes wild when they see him. They want to see him move on. ali climbs in the ring, bounces up and down and does a quick ali shuffle to entertain the crowd. both men now take off their robes and they are getting ready. Now michael buffer is seen.

Michael Buffer: Ladiiiiies and geeentlemeeen, welcooome to the houston Astrodome for this secound round playoff. the referee is mark conn, the two judges are artie aidala, and tony castellano! presenting 15 rounds of boxing. introducing, from houston, texas, wearing dark blue trunks with black trim, he stands six foot four, he weighs two hundred twenty-three pounds, "biiiiig" geooorge foooremaan!(a few cheers could be heard among the fans) and his opponent, also from houston, he's wearing black trunks with white trim, he stands six feet three, he weighs two hundred fooour pounds, he is the greatest, muhaamaaaaaaaaaad aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiii!!(75,000 people scream hysterically)

here is the referee mark conn giving the instructions.

conn: alright boys, you know the rules of the texas state athletic boxing commision. i want a good clean fight, remember to protect yourself at all times, any questions? ok, good luck.

the tension is building. but both fighters are ready. both men say their prayers. ali bows his head and holds up his hands, and foreman kneels down and clasps his hands together.

Round 1: ali circles foreman and throws some jabs that foreman takes. foreman is cutting off the ring well landing some body shots that ali takes. ali then gets out of the corner to land some stinging combo's that doesn't seem to bother george. both men use their feet in this one, as ali boxes around foreman and tries to stay away like he did with sonny liston, and foremanuses his speed of foot to ct the ring off and nuetralize ali's speed. it's an even round pretty much: dundee is telling muhammad to keep on the run and land shots where he sees an opening, and saddler is telling foreman to be patient and pick his shots.

Round 2: both men do the same thing they did in the last round, but now foreman gets a bit sloppy and ali capitalizes and lands some right hands. foreman is taking them and he presses on. ali lands some solid combinations, but he still keeps on the run. foreman still cuts the ring off and lands some body shots in an attempt to weaken ali. ali uses his jab, and so does foreman to an extent: foreman looks pretty good and so does ali. both men are up at the warning bell.

Round 3: ali still moves for the most part, but is going more flatfooted to increase the punching power. foreman cuts off the ring well with unusual quickness for a man that size! ali still gets some jabs in as he now is landing his fast fluury of hooks on foreman's face. foreman hits ali with a jab that rocks his head back. ali is stunned for a moment and hold on trying to tie foreman up, but this tiem ali does not have the luxury of being stronger than his opponent as foreman pushes ali off. but however, foreman can't manhandle ali as easy as his other opponents, but he still does it nontheless. ali still looks pretty good landing alot of punches on foreman: ali rests for a while and so does foreman, and saddler is seen giving foreman special pointers.

Round 4: both fighters look a little less anxious, especially foreman. he knows not to rush his shots against ali, or else the same thing that happened in zaire will happen, now! ali is getting hit with hard shots to the body and head as foreman continues to close the gap on ali's speed. ali still lands alot of punches and still looks pretty good. foreman and ali are both doing well, but ali has defeinetely landed more blows, even if they aren't as powerful as the ones dished out by big george: dundee is giving ali pointers on what to do in certain situations, and foreman sits calmly on his stool.

Round 5: Ali continues to move, and foreman is a bit tired from throwing so many punches. Ali makes him look a bit sloppy as he slips a lot of foreman's bombs. ali counterpunches well, using tricky angles to befuddle his oppoent. Ali looks real fast as his superb conditioning pays off. ali can now cruise in this round: Saddler is trying to calm foreman down in his corner.

Round 6: Foreman comes out and throws huge shots that ll miss as the crowd is amused by this. Ali keeps on his toes and Foreman tries to corner ali, but at this moment ali is just too fast for george. muhammad is cornered and ali holds foreman behind the head and pushes his head down to render foreman useless on the inside. This is smart tactical boxing by ali, and it is paying off. Ali still is on his toes, popping that jab and the occasional left hook. foreman is a bit discouraged and can't find his man: Dundee is giving Ali instructions and saddler is trying to help foreman get his second win.

Round 7: At this point foreman is dead tired and ali takes advantage, throwing hard lefts and rights, snapping foreman's head back. Foreman is stunned a little, and ali follows up with a fast ali shuffle and a left hook and overhand right like he did with Cleveland Williams back in '66. ali is extremely accurate in this round, as one would see that he doesn't miss a punch. His timing, his speed, his reflexes, and the blows are delivered not only with force, but with tremendous accuracy. Foreman is stunned as 20sec. remain in the round, and muhammad attempts to finish, but the bell rings: There is confusion in Foreman's corner, while ali's corner is real calm.

Round 8: Ali just jabs and moves, jabs and moves, never staying still in one place. He doesn't necessarily concentrates on punching power, but solely on cleanly winning the round, hitting and not being hit. and Ali does this quite well, as the now exhausted foreman doesn't know what to do. His hand and foot speed has greatly diminished, his technique is extremely sloppy, and he is so ticked off that he can't even think straight. Ali boxes a complete shutout round as foreman cannot hit him once, and ali throws 79 punches, landing 74 of them, remarkable even today!: Foreman looks like he is ready to collapse, and ali looks a little tired, but he is ready.

Round 9: Again, ali concentrates on boxing around foreman and foreman is tring desperately to land that one big shot. Somehow, somewhere, Foreman gets a second win and is landing and landing heavily on ali's chin. He does pretty well, in the first minute, but it quickly subsides, as ali uses his feet and stays away while hitting foreman with stunning blows that hurt george. ali follows up with some crisp combinations and Foreman is down! Foreman is down! Foreman is up at 3, and ali continues to pepper george with punches until the bell sounds: Foreman is still very tired, and so is ali.

Round 10: Ali is now flatfooted to get the extra UMPH in his punches. foreman has a mouse over his left eye. Ali really wants this win and he goes after it, landing hard smashes to foreman's chin. Ali is doing well in this round, as foreman is exhausted again. Ali goes for the knockout, but foreman chin won't allow it, at least not in this round: Ali has a very serious look on his face, and foreman and his corner look hopeless.

Round 11: Ali is patient and thinks about what kind of attack he will present. Foreman just goes out there and wing punches hoping that ali might run into one of them. Ali lands crisp, solid combinations and foreman goes down again! The crowd is on their feet, but foreman gets up, showing the heart, the tremendous heart and will not give up, yet. Ali lands a few more flurries to the severely fatigued foreman and he stumbles around the ring. the crowd is on the edge of their seat. Referee Mark Conn steps in and stops the fight! The fight is over, on a technical knockout! George Foreman is beaten in six games!

buffer: the winner by a knockout at 1:21 of the eleventh round, Muhammmmmaaaaaad Aaaaaaaliiiiiiiiiiii!!!(The crowd cannot control themselves as Ali hold his hands up in victory and moves on to The Western Conference Finals!)

Ali: This is it! There's no way I'll lose. Whoever stands in my way, Jack Johnson or Jack Dempsey, one of them will fall!

WOW!! Ali takes care of Foreman to move on. Can Joe Louis do the same thing tonight against Tyson? lets find out. Lets send our camers over to the east in Michigan.

                      age: 28
                      height: 6'-2"

                      reach: 76"

                      height: 5'-11"
                      weight: 232
                      reach: 71"
                      record: 35-0-0 (31ko)

Mike tyson, who judging at the weigh-in is in horrendous shape, is coming into the ring wearing no robe. now louis comes into the ring wearing a black robe, and the crowd is estatic. both are into the ring and they are warming up as michael buffer gives the announcement.

michael buffer: Ladies and gentlemen, presenting 15 rounds of boxing, lllllets get reaaady to ruumbllllllllle. introducing, from catskill, new york, he's wearing black trunks, he stands five feet eleven, he weighe two thirty-two, miiiiiiike tyyyyyysonnnnnnnn!(boos could be heard, and cheers for louis as he is being announced)and his opponent, from detroit, michigan, he's wearing black trunks with white trim, he stands six feet two, he weighs two hundred seven and three quarter pounds, jooooooeee loouissssss!

conn: alright, now i want a good clean fight. protect yoursef at all times. three knockdown rule is waived, so is the standing 8-count, go to a neutral corner upon scoring a KD, break when i tell you to break. a fighter will not be saved by the bell when knocked down, except for the final round. ok? shake hands.

Round 1: Tyson comes out bobbing and weaving and louis uses his defense to avoid tyson's shots. tyson lands some good shots which louis takes. louis answers with his own shots. tyson lunges in and louis brilliantly side-steps him and counters with a right hand. tyson is a little more cautious, picking his shots carefully. louis jabs and jabs. tyson fights a cautious fight until the bell rings.

Round 2: Tyson comes out and looks for one big shot to end it, but the head-movement is gone. louis jabs and lands an overhand right. louis then jabs and lunges in with a left hook and tyson is stunned! Louis follows up with huge, crushing blows, and tyson is really hurt. tyson gets oiut of the way and again is looking for one shot, but his heart is not in it. he seems preoccupied by something else. louis is all business in there as tyson does not know what to do. But have no fear, the sound of the bell is here.

Round 3: Tyson now comes out throwing a huge shot that lands on louis' head, and follows up with some other shots, flashing his power, but it's just not working as louis walks through those punches. Louis lands some mean shots and tyson is now wobblylegged and Louis moves in to finish. Louis has tyson up against the ropes, and five body shots and twelve blows to the jaw send tyson to the canvas. Tyson looks fine, but for some reason, he doesn't try to get up. the fight is over and so is Mike Tyson for this tournament!

buffer: The winner at 2:00 of the third round by a knockout, Jooooooooe Loouuuuiiiiissss!(the crowd is really happy and jubilant)

so louis now moves on to face listojn, and ALi moves on as well. Can Ali and Louis, the two number one seeds in this tournament meet up at the finals? find out! This is butterfly1964 saying goodnight. The final scores are Part1-ali tko11 and Part2-louis ko3. Have a good night!
